Upclassing help - NXD
I'm new to NASA, but have been running in C-Prepared with SCCA. I'm clear on how the classing works in NASA, but wanted to make sure I got the "Upclassing" part right.

I've got a 1999 Camaro Z-28 and it is over the required weight. I went through the upclassing points and I calculated 38 pts that apply to me which would be 1 upclass. But I saw that NXD has a 7 point "initial assessment"...do I have to add that to my points for a total of 45? It means the difference between 1 or 2 upclasses.

Also, is this right:

NXD with one upclass is NXC? with two upclasses is NXB? I really don't want to be classed with the Evos!!

Thanks,
JC

If your car has a start like your saying you have in the list where you get your base class, then it does have to include either 7 starting pts. or 14 pts depending on if you have one "*" or two "**". Stinks I know since my car has initial points assessed as well.

I guess I need to remove 6 points worth of stuff from my car then! Should be pretty easy since you get points for things that don't really make a difference like a strut bar.

yeah, the way i understand AX and TT with NASA itss all about getting the best bang for your points.

**** I THINK****
you can get away with a simple HP / Weight classing and ignore your mods

but i could be wrong, Ken can likely clear this up

that is not true.
TTU and TTS exclusively uses the hp/weight ratio for classing.
for other classes (TTA, TTB, TTC, TTD, etc) if you exceed the adjusted hp/weight ratio for your class, you move up to whatever class you fit in.

by your incorrect theory, one could have the bomb suspension and tires and stock hp and stay classed lower (not true)

the hp/weight rule also applies to motor swapped vehicles for initial classing.

Dave has it right - TTA-F must stay under points and adjusted whp/weight ratios

I assume AX is the same, though I do not deal with it on a regular basis

Bah, there's only one Evo you need to worry about and he's always fast. I'm sure your car will wax most everyone else.

Well...I'll try to get the points back down to 39 and run in NXC, but I won't loose any sleep over it!

My SES light came on during a Sunday drive yesterday. It's probably an O2 sensor or MAF snesor or something, but does anyone have ODB II diagnostic tool or tuning software that I can read this code with?
Thanks,
JC
