Quote:For fuck's sake..... Was there any real need for the excessive cursing? Remember, everything under Other Events can be read by people outside as well. Cursing is ok every once in a while, but really... it only tends to agitate the situation and people more esp. with things going on lately. We'll talk about whatever will or will not happen w/ the club and this event etc... at a later date after the officers convene tomorrow. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

Sorry if my smart ass comment stirred up the pot again, twas not my intention.
But I'm all for having an event like this. I can say personally that I don't state I'm going to attend something and then not show. Money is an issue for me personally and that may be why I dont attend everything . This month is gonna be expensive with all these events lol.

same here, money is why no one ever sees Zach or I at Tuesday GTGs. Easley is a long way to drive twice. I wont be participating in the event but I am still willing to help out with food or whatever so long as everyone is willing to get a hold on the tempers and internet drama.

What are yall going to discuss, "hey guys theres a event, do we want to be part of it?" "no its not a auto x" "Okay done deal" Now, calm down that was a joke trying to lighten up the mood of this place. We are still holding the even with or without you ross. Although we would LVOE to have you on board. Ill be out for the bigger part of the deal face to face with people getting things rolling and will be available when ever to discuss what ever on the phone at any time ross. I tried calling you talk about other things and texting but in return got a pissy reply so what ever. If you want ot have some facts to go over you have my number. Plus seems that theres a good many people coming to my place thursday to finish going over some of the specifics so like before, any officer that would like to be present your more than welcome to come. Anyone really is more than welcome to come. The more input the better.

I will still be coming, I just hope that that autocross that was sheduled for 2/28 is actually scheduled for 3/1... as the autocrosses are usually sheduled on sundays anyways. If the autocross IS on the 28th as well (which considering the participation in the poker run, I doubt it would work anyways), there are plenty others that I can attend.
The biggest concern for me and why I'm so set on autocrossing right now is because me and my friend with the 335i have a bet going down as to who will post the shortest times at the next autocross... There's one on the 22nd luckily at Carowinds, which I will definitely be showing up to. If the autox at Carowinds on the 22nd works out, the poker run on the 28th works out, and the autocross on the 1st (if the date is indeed switched) ALL work out, then I'm going to be spending a shit ton of money, but its going to be one helll of a couple of fun weekends. :-D Either way, its gonna be awesome seeing so many people and cars participate in the poker run, I can't wait to see how cool this is gonna be. I'm definitely up for meeting at Dustin's place thursday to discuss this further. ![]() Fear the Baby Goat CSCC Journalist (2010) CSCC Secretary (2010-2011) |

We might just have to make it epic car weekend. Do drag strip (assuming they are open) friday night, poker run saturday morning, TDC that night, autox on sunday. Dear lord... |

I have a tentative interested from my father.
sorry guys, but if i drive that close to charlotte and dont actually see them i probably will never get that 911 as inheritance... So for me itll be maybe tdc and the rally/run. When you guys get it settled down, mind posting up the format as we are going to be running it? Is it still going to be clue based, as in you get clues as to where to go at each spot? How long total driving time? (you can imagine after a 10 hour drive down and a 10 hour drive back the next day, i am not going to be in the mood for 8 hours of driving...) I am actually excited. I miss doing clemson events (even if i didnt do that many of them.) there was a comraderie there that doesnt really show itself at any of the events i have done locally. 2010 Chevy Silverado 5.3l Crew Cab. 2012 Mustang V6 Missed but not forgotten: 2006 350z Track. 1987 Porsche 944S. 1994 Geo Prizm. |

I'll restate exactly what I told both James and Chris. The club and the officers are more than willing to make this a CSCC event, but at the current time that it came up when James and Chris came to a meeting, I made it clear that our #1 goal was to get an autox schedule. I had already been working on it long before any poker run or other proposed event came up, therefore it was not my top priority and with that and lots of work to do (MechEngr. Major btw) I decided that I wouldn't partake in the planning. Also, realize that by this time lots of discussion and ideas were already done that I hadn't read or talked about and also we have the car show which again is a higher priority being a yearly event etc...
So.... being that Chris and James clearly had a direction, but no specifics I said that we the officers were interested in the supporting the event, be it monetarily or some other way, but that we would need more specific details before we could really nail anything down. So they were suppose to get back to us and then we'd see the proposed plans and talk about them and move forward however everyone including James, Chris etc.. decided. So I hear that work is being done the past week or so on routes etc... and then I read what has been posted today which seems to suggest a different direction than what was originally talked about with James and Chris. This being the "We don't need you..." approach. However it might have been misworded etc... I think most here read what was posted and got that message. So if that's not the message that you're trying to send, then please take this time to clarify. I didn't answer my phone bc I have more important crap to worry about like the S&&&t storm that many people on this forum have created in the past few days and really to be quite honest the past few months. Oh yea, and I had 2 meetings lasting all last night, a presentation this morning, class, lab report work, then a 3 hr lab and then home to deal with more poo flinging and then hw till about 11. Hm... so excuse me for not calling you. Again, some people get busy and it usually accepted practice to give them a day to call you back... esp if you don't talk to them on a regular basis.. But I digress. I have no problem with this proposed event and honestly don't look to control much of anything just that it stay within the legal limits of the law (as in we dont have any of cars severely speeding, driving dangeriously or anything else illegal) and for it to be fun. I'm sure the other officers will agree to this point. As to the meeting, well we have to discuss current forum issues and talk about what we want to do considering that we have the above mentioned "We don't need you..." approach coming at us with this event. Oh and I know some of you guys really dont get the fascination with Autox or hate it or just dont like it etc.... but its the history of this club like it or not and it isn't going away whether you, Geary Robinson or Clemson University want it to. I have a few uploaded pictures from an original founder of the club at an autox in the Lee hall parking lot from 1970. Because this type of event has been a part of the club for so long, then obviously this is going to take a large priority. Not all priority, but again a portion. So again, if you want to come out to the Autoxs that we hold, great, we'd love to have you and as anyone there will say, were more than willing to lend a hand to help you setup your car, tech, register, walk the course and learn the course and get better. And secondly our events are a lot of fun, filled with the same type of shenanigans that you all enjoy. See it's not so bad.... So again I say, we will discuss the things pertaining to this event on thursday at the soonest. If you can't wait that long well too bad, cuz I'm busy and have tons of school work to do and we still wont be meeting until tomorrow anyways. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

As you stated above Ross, your busy with planning other CSCC events so we figured we would take the lead in this one and not put another one on you. Thursday we are still planning to meet up at Dustins place and go over everything we discussed with you. So basically we are trying to keep you in the loop but since your busy, we thought we could handle the planning of this one. |

Read all the message chase and then someone please explain. I'm busy with things, but again, from the last convo I had with James to yesterday a lot of the supposed "trend" of the event has changed.... or am I wrong.

What do you mean trend of the event? - 6 stops/ 1 card per stop - Best 5 card hand wins - each person is given a map (at the beginning or at each location) - For legality purposes: We are google mapping the whole course and the closest to that time gets a prize also. This promotes driving the speed limit since this is what google calculates. - I plan on Gumballing out my car (read LOTS of sickers/vinyls/ect.) if at all possible - Meet at 9:30-10 and Brief from 10-10:30 and should go to around 12:30-1 - Food at the end??? or end at a restaurant I might be out of the loop but I think thats the just of it |

Taken a trend change? I dont follow. Its a Poker run and still is and always was. A lot of people started throwing ideas of a TSD rally out, ceasers head this, lunch that.........its a Poker Run. If those people want to plan any of those events they can.....this will be a Poker Run.
We understand the busy schedule and are fine with planning this. We were not asking the officers to take the idea and make it happen. We want to make the event what we want and therefore need the control over it at this point. If all parties are willing, once the details are hammered out and CSCC is happy with it, if cscc choses to sponsor it in any way then that is great. If they dont, that is fine. The we dont need you thing was some resentment that were not going to do all the planning and work just to have an officer come in and make changes to it that we dont see being beneficial. The whole autox issue arose from Hraefen being a autox fan coming on here calling the event a joke. Were just wanting to make other events for those that dont take Autox as hardcore as most everyone on this board. Plain and simple, nothing to get offended by. Autox isnt for everyone and neither are poker runs, but at least were trying to do other events. I understand how Autox is at the core of the club, thats fine. I just dont think a member should get so condescending when we plan a non autox group event. What we really need from the club is feedback and not poo. Is the entry fee too much? Time of day a bad choice? What kind of prizes would you like to see? Duration? If we get the proper support well be more likely to setup a TSD rally. Keep in mind this poker run is a test. It will show how viable these types of events are around here. If you want to see the events continue then we will need your participation. Theres so many cool things we can do legally without the need to have a parking lot or permission from the University. Its all about options....you want this club to survive past 2009 then having a VARIETY of events will attract more members. Whether you want to call us the FF crew or not, just keep in mind were ready to go toe to toe in discussions with you. Keep in mind were car guys as well. We will try to respect your hobbies if and only if you respect ours. There are so many types of car enthusiast. I dont necessarily fall into the one the majority of the club likes and im fine with it. I do enjoy autox'ing but its not my main outlet. I am huge into the car modification scene which some people may not like which is fine. We can coexist on the boards. |
