Christmas Charity Suggestions/Ideas?
For some time I've wanted to put together something to benefit a local charity or group in need. I think this is a great opportunity for our club to give back. I know many of us including myself don't always have a ton of money to throw around, but that's not the point. The key thing is that we come up with something creative that will help someone or many people in need and allow us to help them. I haven't always been very involved in charities etc... but I guarantee you if you help with whatever we do, you will enjoy it and feel proud to be making a difference in other people's lives.

There are many different charities such as Big Brothers Big Sister, United Way, Make a Wish etc... that we could work with

Any ideas or suggestions?

Someone suggested a car show at or for a boy's home somewhere, I thought that was a pretty cool idea. Anybody else remember how cool it was to go to a car show when you were about 10? Cool

Good idea.

Ross you had also mentioned collecting canned food to donate - did you still want to do that?

If we did a car show, we could collect cans/toys there but we'd probably want that to tie in with whatever charity we were doing the event for.

NASA is doing toys for tots, and there is a racer who runs a chairity

Childrens Speedway or something like that i think
along the lines of helping kids in a home with special needs and a tough break in life (i think, but i have been wrong before)

we could do something to support them

I don't know of any specific charities, but whatever it is, it should be non-political, something that everyone agrees needs charity.

I've already voiced my opinion, but my idea was to donate to local hospitals to help kids involved in car accidents.

People have a lot of different ideas that are really good. One suggestion is that anyone who has a charity/cause they would like to nominate for this could and we could have a poll we could vote on as a club (in the members only section to make sure only club members are voting).

thoughts?
