Understeer is when you hit the mountain with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the mountain with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the mountain, torque is how far you move the mountain.

How did the novices run in the low 60's?

99 Miata. MP62 Supercharger, RB tubular sway bar, Koni Sports with FM springs. 15x8 Rotas with RA-1s, 190whp. Now with 3.90 Torsen.

Novice just means they haven't run autocrosses regularly, or in some cases recently.. Doesn't always mean they are slow...

Yes... novice times are pax'ed. Fastest novice was a 72 in a Suby and all others were 76 seconds and slower.
We had a LOT of novices and some great class battles.

Kellan took CSP class by almost 2.5 seconds over next closest driver. I've said it before and I'll say it again... " The more seat time you get while you are in high school and college, the faster you develop as a driver." You start after college and you can get fast but it takes a lot longer.

And THAT is why we want to get autocrosses back on campus... Wink
