Well correction... WIFE got a new car. ; )

"Hooker lipstick" Rosso red paint, 38 mpg, very peppy, 2 inch of room above my head while driving and I'm 6'4", easy in and out with doors 2/3rds the length of the car, nice dash layout, manual shift, top rolls back like a sunroof, like an open top , or ALL the way back... very little wind noise for a convertible and you can open the top at 70mph, no problemo. Very nimble steering.

LISTEN CLOSELY .. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!
THIS IS DAGMAR'S car... it is NOT for autocross. I have NO intention in ever autocrossing it as it is HER car. It would put unnecessary wear and tear on her daily driver and that would be foolish

If you should happen to run in to Dagmar Christmas shopping and the topic of the car should come up, THAT is what you should tell her.

Ohhh... before you ask, I didn't get the Abarth because it was $28K stripped... and if you order now, it won't be here until June of 2012.

But I have to say, they KNOW how to market Fiat to men...

lol^ that's exactly what i was thinking. nice pickup ted! my friend's mom got one a few weeks ago............. the heat quit working on it monday Smile

It's from Italy... "what'sa need for a'heat? " Wink

So far so good... keep our fingers crossed. This is Dagmar's 4th Fiat... my 6th. The on board voice command phone, media player and travel data is cool... would prefer a nice sexy Italian female voice for it though. Has a USB port for MP3/I pod and car is bluetooth. You can download info on performance, gas mileage, speed, etc... enough data and stats to keep an owner/engineer like Dagmar happy...

nice! What were your previous Fiats? Don't see many of those, but these new ones are selling quite well it seems.

She had FOUR... a Fiat Uno, punto, 126, 127 and all 4 in Germany and Switzerland. Parking in Zurich in a Fiat Punto is wonderful... lots of spaces too tiny for anything else.

I had 2 Fiat 850s (the disposable Bic lighter of cars... use it up and throw it away) , 2 of the 124s and an X19.

I really like the layout and feel of this 500C... surprised. Peppy, nice riding smoothness, low wind noise at speed with cloth roll back top, great voice operated commands for media and data while driving, 65 MPH feels like about 40 mph, etc. Neat little machine. I REALLY want to test drive the Abarth... I'd have to get the Scorpion tattoo if I got one... and that would really not look as good as it did on the girl in the commercial... IMHO.

Are Dealers marking up the Abarth by 5K!? I thought I read they start at 23K

I don't know...owner of Fort Mill dealership and sales rep said starting at 28K... and then they smiled that smile that says "of course you'll want a steering wheel, pedals, turn signal... that's extra..." Wink

Same here. It's definitely a cool car, and something I'd seriously consider purchasing within the next year or so. But if they want the car to sell, they are going to have to price it under the Mini cooper S, so it needs to be 22-23K.

The 2 is only 15K. Then again that is with 100hp, and not as much style. But is has Zoom-Zoom.
