Hello
I could say that I am a long-term lurker. I joined my senior year in high school (knew some folks who graduated a year before myself and came to Clemson). More than 4 years later I remembered I had registered...so here I am.

So uhh, without giving my life story - I've always been interested in cars (well, probably since middle school). After I graduated high school I bought an autotragic 2g Mitsubishi GS-T (the 4g63 turbo one) and it failed miserably within a couple of months (after the second spun bearing I quit, luls).

A couple of years of hating my life, after that I had a new plan, a 240sx. Great platform, R(ight)WD goodness, easily turboed, cheap and abundant parts, etc. Researched that for about a year and then pulled the trigger for $500 on a 1990, SOHC, Autotragic hatchback.

First - 1990, don't care. Different front bumper and only a little bit of wiring for:
Second - SOHC Auto, no problem. Would be swapping in a fully built DOHC (yes, KA) and 5 speed at the same time.

Got it to my apartment and let it sit for a couple of months when it was time to take it to Greenville (parents house where my engine crane and whatnot was - I already had put the engine together and it had been on the stand waiting for me to get the car for like a year) to do the frankenstein. Thanks to Stephan for letting me use the tow dolly to do so <3

Anyways, I'll be posting a build thread sometime today or tomorrow.

Here's the poor, sad and tired car rolling up onto the trailer

Some careful balancing (luls crankwalk):

And after a little bit of movie magic, this:

Turned into this:

After the picture above, I've made a lot of changes and had plenty of road blocks but hey - it's one hell of a fun ride. Today I'll be getting it back on the road after swapping out that tiny Turbonetics 60-1 (journals finally went bye-bye) for a Holset HX35. Had to order a funky 30° 2.5" to 2" bending adapter to get my hot pipe connected.

New turbo (how it is now minus that manifold, running a log-style now to clear the BMC and whatnot...boiling brake fluid usually isn't too fun):

See you guys on the road, (and in the full build thread later)
Michael "Tucker" Tucker

Cheers twisted

RE: Hello
I'm having to retune a little bit. Going with the blow-through MAF changed some constants and my map isn't scaled the way I want it anymore. After I get that fixed...Smile

RE: Hello
Welcome to the club. I've seen quite a few 240's around recently with intercoolers poking out of the front.

RE: Hello
You have a sick ride, we need to have a go next time I am in Clemson, hopefully at the Dec. autocross...

Brad sorry but unless you have done something big to your S14 then you are going to get stomped lol. Not hating, its just that HX35 turbos can support a LOT of power. They were intended for an engine almost 3 times the size of this KA and at MUCH more boost than 7psi. I want to see what this thing can do at 20+ psi! Time to take advantage of those internals!!

Welcome Smile

RE: Hello
Stefan! I always had trouble with the 'f' and 'ph'. I've got it now Smile

It's definitely a fun ride. I have yet to have a proper "go" in this car so I'm up for any takers. However I have zero autocross experience so I'm sure I'd get my ass handed to me either way, lulz.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!
