RE: 200 MPH?!?!?
^You would Lol I was more interested in reading the release talking about how they lowered the gear ratios in all gears but 4th and the final drive to try and get "performance". I think they are doing that so it can put more power down. I drove a 2012 GT500 and it is an animal, so I imagine 100 MOAR horses would be even more so. Also, 6-piston Brembos and electronic dampers on a Mustang.....never thought I'd see the day Big Grin

Patrick, the new 5.8 is simply a slightly bored version of the current 5.4 block, which is from the Ford GT supercar, which was simply an aluminum block version of the old F150 engines thumbsup

RE: 200 MPH?!?!?
So now the normal GT500 is pretty much on the same level as the Super Snake....

ah ok, i forgot those were DOHC too. i bet the true "next gen" will move to direct injection F/I engines for the cobra using the new 5.0 block instead of the older 5.4 "mod motor" helm. still, the power they are getting out of it is very impressive! i've always loved the sounds of the cobra's since they put the big S/C on top of it. they have a distinct white/roaring sound that stirs my adrenal (and other) glands...
