RE: MEETING WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!
Ted <--- Is not a former President of CSCC but first ran autocrosses with CSCC in 1983.
Ted <--- Is currently on SCCA CCR Board, SCCA SEDIV TT Committee and Eurofest Board and VP at his house.
Ted <--- Has an end to his wit and wisdom.
Ted <---- Could GET driving tips from several student members today
Ted -----> promises you won't be too bored. ; )

Ted's Open Book Trivia questions... Good Luck!
1. What car maker offered the first rebate?
2. What car maker built THE first cars to have bodywork developed by formal aerodynamic testing (done hydro-dynamically in a water tank)?
3. What did Alfred Sloan invent in the 1920s that makes cars, computers, cell phones and Playstations so darn expensive today.
4.Why do we call the instrument panel a "dashboard"?
5. Wind tunnel tests proved that the 1969 Dodge Daytona's and the 1970 Plymouth Superbird's rear spoiler actually worked slightly better if it were about 8 inches lower. Why did they keep it so tall?
6. What two brothers built the chassis for the first A Model for Henry Ford in 1903?
7. What do the inventors of the first windshield wiper, the ceramic insulator for spark plugs, the first car heater and the first car cup holder have in common?
Bring your answers to the meeting and impress everyone by proving you deserve to be a character in the automotive version of the TV show "The Big Bang Theory".

RE: MEETING WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!
Too Funny....

Okay up the ante. First two students to email all 7 answers correctly to editor@thesoutherndriver.com gets a free entry in the autocross Nov. 4th.

Fine Print : Only good for that event on Nov. 6th ... must be a student at CU presently in order to win. You must be present at the meeting this Wednesday night to claim prize. Family of The Southern Driver LLC not allowed to enter. F.D.I.C. Additional taxes, charges, surcharges, and surtaxes may apply. These include local, state and federal excises, as well as a 6% levy imposed by NATO. Your mileage may vary. Substantial penalty for early withdrawal. Ryan, I could whip your S2000 in that Rascal blindfolded. Do not operate light machinery, pasta makers or firearms while answering questions. Answers given may in no way reflect on the publication or it's representatives. Zach Scott cannot enter this competition as he is no longer a student and he is still running 10 year old hard street tires with an off the shelf Megasquirt. By submitting an Entry, you hereby grant Sponsor, its licensees, distributor, agents, representatives and other authorized users, a perpetual, exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable, and transferrable (in whole or in part) license throughout the universe under all copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, moral and privacy and publicity rights and other intellectual property rights you own or control to use, reproduce, transmit, display, exhibit, distribute, index, comment on, modify, create derivative works, perform, and otherwise exploit such Entry, in whole or in part, in all media formats now known or hereafter devised (including on Sponsor sites, on third party websites, on broadcast and cable networks and stations, on broadband and wireless platforms, and on physical media) for any and all purposes including entertainment, news, advertising, promotional, marketing, publicity, trade or commercial purposes, all without further notice to you, with or without attribution, and without the requirement of any permission from or payment to you or to any other person or entity. Kellan is strikingly handsome... if you squint and the room is very very dark. So there...

RE: MEETING WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!
^^LoL

Nice one Ted. I will not have the street tires on the car for this one. I will have some old R3SO4's. Even older but I should be able to get some heat into them. I also have a set of 225 R3SO3's but I think they are beyond getting heat into them after 8 years.

I would watch out for Jaimie. She hasn't autocrossed in over a year. She will be going crazy being able to drive hard legally.

RE: MEETING WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!
Simple for the new guys. Slalom, and some offsets on the other side most likely. I have an idea for a figure 8 I want to try maybe for the second autocross.

Figure eight? Sad Do we have any room to try a few more sections? Maybe some medium difficulty for us old folks and some easier for the newer guys...

The test is no problem for us. We have the room for 2 hours following the test. Big Grin
