Forza vs GT

Which do you choose?

I don't own a PS3 (or a 360 for that matter but I don't even know anyone with a PS3...) so obviously I choose Forza. But even the few times I've gotten to try GT5 I didn't like it as much. Almost like it sacrifices fun for realism...? Maybe Forza (at least Forza 3) is a little less realistic but I can play that all day. I think Forza's menus are easier to navigate as well, very nice when you spend 10 minutes customizing a car and 5 racing it.

PLUS, GT5 just lost all respect in my book.

They both might have a regular Prius and Volt and Leaf, but a racing Prius?

In my mind these two games are for two different purposes. Forza is a realistic arcade racer. It has a great physics engine, but its also more enjoyable than a pure Sim (for example the ability to customize cars more). GT5 is more of a Sim. The graphics are also amazing (minus the standard cars but thats a different argument) and the photo mode is pretty cool. Its more of a game designed for the art/simulation of cars rather than customizing and the like.

I like both games, but I realize they both have their pluses and minuses.

i personally prefer forza 4 (yes i've played it) to GT5. it's still a great simulation without being so frustrating (to me) as the Gran Turismo series. this coming from a huuuuge fan of GT2, GT3 and GT4. i am still planning to get GT5 because it is awesome (you know one person that has a ps3!) but i think i prefer forza 4 just a tad more. it's close tho

Ryan's correct, they have different approaches behind their development. It's hard to compare the two series'. But if you want look at GT5 vs. FM4, well I am of the opinion that GT5 sacrifices a complete package for content and that, overall, it's a half baked piece of software. The stuff made available/announced today only reinforces that opinion. I haven't spent much time actually playing the game though.

I have a PS3. I am a huge fan of the GT series. I do like forza as well. I see it as why can't people enjoy both? They usually choose sides. The only reason I don't have forza and I am not in the financial state to buy a xbox with the potential red ring problem, and the Fanatec wheel to work with the xbox. One day though I might have both. Racing in games has become boring compared to real life.

Less of a game and more of a Sim, yes.

Polyphony did sacrifice a bit of polish in the gaming part of the game to make it look so good. IMO they focused too long on the aesthetics and not enough on making it fun to play and navigate. The physics engine and premium cars are the glue that hold it together.

I've been playing Forza 4 all day long, I guess I'm just a Forza fan...

Similar to how Mustang's suck. It's just a fact that Chevy motors are better.

Have to say I'm kind of disappointed in the graphics of the cars in Forza 4. Was expecting much better to be completely honest.

Mike your TV must suck balls. I thought it looked great. I don't have my own gamertag... I'll see if my buddy I usually play with wants to hook up with CSCCers.

Graphics are only so important in a game where you can't really focus on them
