Agreed.

I can't remember the last time I played a racing game. It's been months since I put GT into the PS3 and about a month or two since I last ran iRacing. I just find myself getting too frustrated with the lack of feedback that I expect in a car as well as the limited field of view. After going off on my third or fourth lap because I didn't know just how close to the limit I was that last lap, only that I could go faster because the car didn't get squirrely, I get irritated at the limitations of a computer or game system based sim. Maybe if I was to build the 3+ DOF sim seat I want it'd work better, but that won't be any time soon due to space / cost.

RE: Forza vs GT
Rob and Zach, I completely agree with you. The reason I play Forza though is for the sandbox atmosphere. Messing around with all the cars, playing stupid stuff like tag or soccer, and these types of things make the game fun and provide a great distraction when you get frustrated by what's lacking from the actual driving. All in all, the Forza developers understand that it's "just a game" better than any of the others, and it shines through the final product.

EDIT: Allow me to back up my post...
