this weekend i went to the clemson ICAR showcase. much like a smaller cars and coffee, it's a collection of various cars from imports, to classics, to muscle cars, to modern domestics. here's the album of pics showing what all was there:

while there, i met the owner of DDMWorks who are doing a full build for a customer on an Ariel Atom. we spoke for a while and decided to get some shots of it now (stock) and i will be taking some pictures of it for them during the build as well as after!

What is that like a race stripped Miata? Or like a beefed up go kart with a reinforced frame? Why would you want an autox car to look that nice when you can't even drive it on the street?

Honestly I'm not sure whether to say I like the Atom or the photos more.

Sorry Patrick I'm going to have to say I'd take the car over the photos. But a decision that close should still be taken as a compliment. A big one.

How do you make a car with so little body still look so good? I thought you usually had to play with lighting and stuff to get reflections and tones on body panels to look just right, but there are hardly any body panels to play with here...

Nope! I like the car AND the pictures but I like the car a little bit more than the pictures. That's a compliment... in a sort of roundabout way.

I just think it's interesting that there's so little to this car, and yet if I were to try to take pictures of it (granted, with a point and shoot that I hacked to let me do things it's not supposed to do), they would come out all unimposing and all compared to yours.

Props, I guess that's what I'm trying to say!
