Petit Le Mans 2011 Pics
for the past couple years i had heard about petit le mans from friends and how awesome it was but had never gotten the opportunity to go. this year, nissan is fielding an LMGT prototype car (driven by the winner of the PS3 Gran Turismo 5 challenge winner currently on Speed channel) as well as Brass Monkey's nismo 370z. because of this, nissan offered a hospitality suite to support their racing efforts. members of NAGTROC, the370z.com, and most of the Z1 Motorsports shop crew attended and we all had a great time. pit tours, food, drinks and other exclusives were included. i was very happy with my results from this event and that's making it hard to pick favorites so be sure to check out the entire album of pictures!!

album:

Great shots man! Looking at your album, I really like your eye......some good shots on but especially off the track in the pits and on pit road. Did anyone get some night shots?

In past years, I remember standing at turn 1 and the heavy braking area into 10a at night watching cars bottom out and shoot sparks, brake rotors glowing, and shooting flames out of the exhaust as they downshifted. You could even see the headers and turbos glowing through the bodywork on some of the prototypes! THOSE would make for some great pics.

Lol sorry for causing a landslide...

Matt that might be asking for a bit much man. He doesn't just give out all the high res versions because they are HIS pictures and he should be entitled to make money off of the prints, which you need the high res files to make. I'm sure he doesn't mine one or two, but 4+ is quite a bit.

Wing mounting on that caddy is odd, but seemingly effective.

RE: Petit Le Mans 2011 Pics
yea a lot of cars are mounting their wings that way. i read in an article about some of these ALMS cars that the "new" style is to not disrupt the air going under the wing which is causing inverse lift (downforce). they found that the traditional mounts were causing turbulence and apparently this works better... not sure how much of a difference it makes but it looks like all true racing wings are going to be heading this way in design. guess every little bit helps

RE: Petit Le Mans 2011 Pics
Hrm. In that case the wing should be mounted forward of the uprights, otherwise they are still in the airstream. Intradesting.
