NEW OLD GUY
I autocrossed with you guys back around 02-04 when I was in school. At that time I had a '95 S14 that was ghetto slammed with nothing more than a cat back exhaust, cold air and a factory lsd. I went to work for Nissan about a year ago and have been planning on a long term build but wanted something obscure...(fast not the main goal here). I picked up my 1969 Datsun 1600 roadster a few months back and have been tearing into it since day one. Hope you guys pin down some autoX dates soon as I am really looking forward to "tossin' this ol' girl 'round". Should be fun!

RE: NEW OLD GUY
Welcome! Interesting choice of vehicle, I can appreciate that Smile I think there's still a couple of people on here that would have been students when you were still at Clemson.

RE: NEW OLD GUY
I know that I will catch some crap from some people about it. But have to stare at the rear end of a GTR for 10hrs a day at work. So owning a piece of history that got Nissan to that point was a big deciding factor of that purchase.... That and the fact that it was a little less(smirk) than the 86k pricetag of the GTR! LOL!

RE: NEW OLD GUY
You forgot to mention that by virtue of it not being a pig it's about a million times better than the GT-R too Wink

RE: NEW OLD GUY
Great to have you back. I have two friends who own and restore old Datsuns. They have a bunch of parts and a lot of knowledge. It's a great machine... always wanted one but I went the British direction ... and have Rorschach paintings in my drive way to prove it.

I'll look forward to seeing the car! Thanks!, Ted

RE: NEW OLD GUY
Welcome back! I'd LOVE to see that thing on course. I like to think that when the club first started someone had one of those to throw around a course thumbsup

RE: NEW OLD GUY
Right now it is on jackstands Sad I am in the middle of the datsun 510 master cylinder/volvo caliper conversion (see hitman write up on NICO) and am waiting on my new old stock "datsun sports" (pre-Nismo) race springs and KYB shocks. Hope to have it on the road in the next 30+/- days.
