I see the reasoning, but it seems to me that some have forgotten that they have the authority to tell participants to fix the problem. Why would you put your numbers on upside down? Spite? ![]() We have not "Banned" anyone for inproper numbers and work hard to help the n00b fix them. (08-16-2011 05:12 PM)jedimario Wrote: I'm not serious about autocross. Magnets tend to remove themselves from cars at track speed, so I'm wary of making that investment. I have driven 130 MPH at VIR and did not have any magnet issues, I know that is slow but it was all my Subaru RS had in it. I see that you are a admin, but if you posted a event on our forum I would not come aboard knocking the way your club did things, in fact I would encourage you all on a successfull event and would try to make it to the event. So in closing Registration is open, we have a event Hotel, we have a National level designer, Social with refreshments saturday after the runs, AND yes tape numbers will still not be allowed !! Thanks, Dave |

RE: 2011 NCAC Registration open 10/1 & 2 Zmax Dragway
That's great David... wish I could make it. NCAC always is a GREAT event and a lot of good friends and competition.
Each club has their own rules... and they have a right to write their own rules and expect anyone running with them to follow them. I LOVE NASA's approach to SIMPLIFY... but I don't like the results of some of the points totalling and honor system. I HATE SCCA large rule books and class complexity BUT ... they have done a great job of creating classes where you can run and see how you stack up in competition. At regional levels and National levels... there are not BLOWOUTs... it's tight every year. Everyone has to find what's best for them and roll with it... or decide competition is not for them and don't run. If you don't like the rules, you don't have to run with that club... but as Yogi Berra said " If the people don't want to come out to the ballpark, nobody's going to stop them." It's all good. Let's go do our best to help support tire manufacturers by consuming their products in large quantities. ; ) Have fun , get faster, build skillz. Girls like guys with skillz.
Ted E. Bayer - Hillclimbing Understeer is when you hit the mountain with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the mountain with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the mountain, torque is how far you move the mountain. |

Conversely, I have seen a fair amount of numbers fly off at slower speeds. Not all of them, or a majority even, but enough for me to decide that it could get expensive seeing as they are not always retrievable. I don't mean to trash anything. I think that most here can determine that the rule isn't that big of a deal. I am just frustrated seeing it so much and thought a ridiculous, insignificant question was appropriate for a ridiculous, insignificant rule. I would still be going if it weren't for Petit, honest. ![]() Joy...is not trying to pan a fast moving object at dusk with a point-and shoot... |
