UGR's new LP560TT 1/4 Run
I don't know what kind of numbers this thing is making, but to run 177mph in the 1/4 in a street car has just set a new level. I remember back not even 10 years ago, it was pretty nuts to have a 140mph 1/4 car. Now a days thats nothing.

RE: UGR's new LP560TT 1/4 Run
We were going to Rockingham this weekend to test the new clutch in the shop drag car (the one in the video, "Nera"), but they blew the transmission to bits testing it in the parking lot. Maybe next weekend...
Btw 2-step on that thing sounds out of this world. Going for 7's and 180+ traps. Just gotta do it without blowing 1st gear into a million pieces. Oh and I don't mean to be picky but its a regular Gallardo Superleggera, not a LP. ![]() Clemson '11 |

Put in a physically larger and harder first gear!!! Fixed!
May the Boost be with us... Yachtsman... |

The gearbox cannot hold it. That car already has straight cut, hardened, and as big of a gear the case will allow...

What would slicks do on a car like this?
Mustang can get into the 8's with a 20mph slower trap speedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2z8exW96l8 ![]() tylerz@clemsonscc.org |

RE: UGR's new LP560TT 1/4 Run
Ok...non-factory transmission. The only point I was trying to get across is that its components were better suited to handle that kind of power. Of course there are shortcomings elsewhere but as for as going down the 1/4 mile is concerned its driveline is a beast comparatively.

RE: UGR's new LP560TT 1/4 Run
So a three speed automatic that's 40-50 years old is better than a brand new automated clutch six speed? Ironic methinks

RE: UGR's new LP560TT 1/4 Run
3 speeds in a physically larger case = huge gears
6 speeds in a smaller case = small gears The bigger the gear the stronger it is. Not to mention its not just the gears that break. Most of the breakage is rear diff related, which is in the transmission case on a transaxle so I consider it a "transmission problem". A torque converter also helps dampen the sudden engine torque that likes to break stuff the most. I guess thats a price you have to pay for a true manual... ![]() Clemson '11 |

these are all truths. i dunno if i'd cal it a "true" manual. Where's the left pedal?!
![]() also, to solve your problems: see if a shortcase 'glide and a ford 9 inch will fit in there

Hell yeah that would be so much win, a freaking powerglide in a Lambo lol. And the car in the video is a "true" manual. E-gear can't shift or takeoff that fast But yes you are right the E-gear cars are automatics in my mind too. Actually, they are worse, because I hate the clutch takeup on them that much.
