2JZ | 3.4L Stroker | Pump Gas Dyno Tune
Austin’s 2JZ-GTE swapped G35 sedan has been a shop project of ours for a while. We’ve had the car running for some time now, but during the last dyno session, a thrust washer failed in the stock JDM long block , causing the bottom end to seize. Austin had us rebuild the engine, this time as a 3.4L stroker engine. We also installed several other parts, to support his long term power goals. Right now, the car is limited by the R154 transmission, so we’ve only tuned on pump gas. When Austin switches the transmission to a V160 6 Speed, we’ll be tuning on E85 and turning up the boost.

RE: 2JZ | 3.4L Stroker | Pump Gas Dyno Tune
No one can push a 2JZ hard enough to crankwalk, otherwise the engine was simply not built appropriately. However, it's an old motor. You have engines that could have been standing still for the last 10-15 years with broke down oil in the bearings. Usually, if something goes wrong on a used motor of this age, it's a main or rod bearing and it would happen within the first 100 miles from lack of lubrication due to the caulking of the old oil preventing the new oil from making contact.. In this case, a thrust washer failed as a result which is very uncommon. If I buy a motor that old, you can bet that at the very least, the bearings will be replaced. Maybe I'm just a little too precautions. Truth be known, the majority of these imported motors turn out fine but occasionally, you'll run into something like this.

Tuning: Crome Gold, S300, K-Pro, Flashpro, AEM EMS & F/IC, Haltech, Motec, PowerFC, Nistune, Utec, Cobb AccessPORT, SCT, Tweecer, C.A.T.S, Big Stuff, HP Tuners, Unichip, CPE Standback, TurboEdit, Megasquirt, DSM Link, SAFC, VAFC, NEO
