RE: beginner autox car?
I think I'm pretty set on a miata as soon as I have the funds to afford one. Both my dad and uncle have one now, parts are cheap, and they kick ass at scca nationals. I think given the right parts (say maybe an LS1 swap or hell just a turbo) I can get over the "its a girl car" problem. luckily miatas are rwd too so that's not a problem. I'll get over not having four seats, and from what I've seen in person and online swapping in a race seat and bolting it back and low will give me enough room to drive it. Thanks for the help guys! even though I'll probably go car-less for the first year at least...

I'm 6'3-6'4 (depending on who measures >.<) and have no problems fitting in mine with the stock seat. You can do the "foamectomy" to give yourself more room, but I've found it to be uncomfortable because my shoulders are wider than zach's

RE: beginner autox car?
I'm 6'4 now and will probably be 6'5 once i get the car, plus helmet room. If its girth, I'm 220 so I should fit snugly in most seats. I'll end up slamming the seat to the floor there's no doubt and fitted farther back too. The height issue may be managed if I have the convertible and I just put the top down for autocross though I'd really prefer a hard top.

RE: beginner autox car?
there is only a convertible miata...
you put a hardtop on top of the convert.... I was 270 when I tried last at 6ft 3. I could technically sit in the car, but had to get out to lower the handbrake and then climb back in... 2010 Chevy Silverado 5.3l Crew Cab. 2012 Mustang V6 Missed but not forgotten: 2006 350z Track. 1987 Porsche 944S. 1994 Geo Prizm. |
