Summer Autocross?
So I know it's been mentioned back and forth but is there any chance of getting an autocross together for over the summer sometime? I know a handful of people have offered to help and I will also offer up! So what do you guys think? Open discussion.

Make it a road trip + autocross. Would be epic. I'll even let you ride in the new and improved 535i. Now featuring a 3rd pedal instead of 2!

That's a big change Mike!

I'll come drive if people get one going but I don't think the right people are left to throw it together.

RE: Summer Autocross?
To reduce costs, effort, time... might be good to make it a test n tune. No competition by class. If clear day with no threat of rain, let one group run all morning and work afternoon while other works morning and drives afternoon. Longer focus time... time to try different settings (like : roll bar, settings, shocks, tire pressures, etc.) and different lines and FEEL difference. IF you ever get a chance to run a 24 hour autocross, it REALLY helps boost learning curve. Just a thought.
Either way, I'm in... and would be willing to sponsor the event if there are costs. Are more people free saturday or sunday? Makes no difference to me.

Understeer is when you hit the mountain with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the mountain with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the mountain, torque is how far you move the mountain.

^^^I'm loving that idea Ted! I'm definitely be in for that! I have so many adjustment points on my car now, most of them fairly new to me and most of them I can't change without having the tires off. It would be awesome to be able to adjust and run and repeat to nail down a set-up. We need a fast lot too, like the whole lot by the stadium that we ran in last fall. It has to be a Saturday after June 18th for me though.

RE: Summer Autocross?
Now that my family concerns are over, I can make it back up for one. I would encourage everyone to hop in an SCCA event if they can in the mean time (I know that I plan on it thumbsup ) The big issue is getting a date that everyone can live with.

RE: Summer Autocross?
Speaking of SCCA event... Memorial Day Monday Autocross on Carolina Motorsports Park track. Almost running the full course. Sign up soon as you can... it will fill up QUICKLY! If we have enough CSCC... maybe we can paddock together. If you'd like to run this event for free... there's a way. Come work the road races with food and lodging on saturday and sunday and event monday is free. I'm Asst. Race Chair... let me know if you'd like to work.

RE: Summer Autocross?
I would be up for a test and tune as well. I do have a good idea for a simple course that we did at the evo school that would worked well for about the same size as what we have on campus.

RE: Summer Autocross?
I am open to help. Only issue would be if I was on Vacation or in China. Plus Jaimie could probably be able to make it since she is in school again. Maybe I will bring Satan's Wankel out for some fun, need to re install the rear sway bar though.
