We will be opening registration for drivers and workers soon. We have a LOT of people contacting us wanting to drive & work...head of course workers (Don Drennon) received calls and emails from all over the southeast. The first 40 or so will get free food and lodging... workers after that point, we will provide free food and a per diem ( X $ for gas or room.) I rented a 3 bedroom chalet and beds are filled but, if someone needs a place for a sleeping bag, I have some floor about your size.

If you wish to email don : ddrennon@gmail.com

I havent heard back from the interview yet...

Get the job. We wants' ya back this way. It's be great if you could hit the lottery and by CSCC a big chunk of asphalt but... Tracy married you. All your luck has been used up! ; )
Good luck on job. I made a call to a friend at Jacobs monday. We'll see what he can do/find out.

Ted;

I have an offer, (hard offer on Friday but I have a soft or email offer.)
Tracy was told yesterday that the guy interviewing her is still interviewing more people and will only get back to her next week. Normally we wouldnt mind waiting at all. But rumor has it in the next two or three weeks we'll be moved by our company. Dont want to make them move us then quit...

RE: Chasing the dragon hillclimb - June 11-12
Timing... ; )
Some companies I have worked love package deals (hubby and wifey). Others avoid it like the plaque. Reasons : 1. You fire one, other quits and can be vengeful on the way out. 2. You let one go, attitudes get bad and eventually other leaves. 3. The one you let go finds another job and they have to move away... end up losing the other anyway.
Hope things work out great for you both. Keep us posted. Let us know when you're house shopping or wading in to the area.

RE: Chasing the dragon hillclimb - June 11-12
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! http://www.myautoevents.com under hillclimb section

If you want to work a corner or help out with staff in return for food and lodging, please contact Don Drennon ddrennon@gmail.com

This may fill up quickly and Don can house about 45 workers. After that, he can provide food but not lodging. If you want to work, tell him you are a friend of mine and are coming with some other Clemson guys so he can put you together. If you are coming up for a day to watch and need a place to crash, email me and I'll do my best to try to find a place for you (free).

Thanks guys. Jedi is 85% finished... I think we'll make it. Wife's father died so we are leaving for Germany tomorrow morning. We'll be back next Friday evening but feel free to email between now and then. Thanks!

Come on up..it's free and you'll see some AWESOME machines and racing! The Jedi is finished... TJ's got his clutch and tranny in and we're ready to go.

Half day of watching Hillclimb racing and half day of driving the Tail of the Dragon.... sounds like a GREAT weekend for a car lover.

Thanks
Ted

P.S. I won't run Rain Tires... that's for rolling around in the garage. ; )

RE: Chasing the dragon hillclimb - June 11-12
I wish I knew where to begin. Great turnout... drivers, over 500 spectators. Heikki Rinte Kosti ("The flying Finn") showed up in a supercharged Miata 1.8 Locost and put on a great driving exhibition. Cory Friedman brought his Porsche Gt3 Cup Grand AM car((yes...$500K on the hill). The town people welcomed us and showed wonderful hospitality... autograph sessions with the drivers, food and music downtown along with our cars on display. Saturday morning at 5:45, I met our Chief Flagging Steward at the Maple Gap Overlook to see the mountains view. Gorgeous way to start the day.
BBQ being prepared on site.. good stuff. Cars ran smoothly and had very few incidents... Per Olof dropped his wheel in a ditch on his last run and broke radiator and intercooler. The ladies were fighting it out for Queen of the Hill and it was won on the last run by Chris Moore in a Black TR6. The JEDI WAS AWESOME... first run scared the heck out of me... really loving the downforce.... then clutch went on second run. (It was used from PO and one thing we had no time to check... probably good that I had more time for running event. Next time... hmmm). Scott Franklin in his Hayabusa powered Baby Grand almost slapped fenders 3 times between the rock wall passes. At lunch sunday, we did a chase camera with Heikki in the Locost, Race Dr. Rick Burris and Darryl (killboy) in his EVO and TJ in Elvira.... we put cameras on all three and about halfway up, things got crazy. More later ...watch for the DVD... heh heh heh.
The Dragonslayer swords and trophies were awarded by the SCCA Dragon and we had a blast. The city has offered to repave the road and wants us to come twice a year. Considering this was a first shot at event manager for me... and considering what normally takes a year, we did in three months... I am happy. If you want a laugh... watch this video from my friends Marcel and Eric. They were the only entry in the rally class ... Marcel is Romanian and I think my dad may have been a traveling salesman in Romania at some point prior to his birth. Note ... all racer's have egos. Real men can laugh at mistakes in life and on and off the track.

Here's another video.... enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtfnhNSq4OU

Thanks Karlye and Ryan for coming up to watch. Hope you had fun on the Dragon afterwards! There's a chance we MAY run this same site in fall...we'll see. There is nothing like a hillclimb...
Ted

RE: Chasing the dragon hillclimb - June 11-12
Ryan and myself thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The ride up was beautiful and fun (when we didn't get stuck behind people going 15 under the speed limit). Riding the Dragon was also fun. We took some pictures, don't know how they turned up, but when we get time we will post them.
Thanks for inviting us Ted! Next time, we should get a CSCC caravan going!
