420A - MegaSquirt SnS - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
This car belongs to Tim K. He brought the car in for a tune on MegaSquirt SnS. He just finished breaking in his newly built engine, and wanted a tune to get a little more power, better fuel mileage, and a good tune for his car. His plans are to attend local autocross events, and may be interested in E85 tuning later down the road.

good tq, weak whp for crane 18's.
his midrange is monsterous.
the header and intake manifold are bottle-necking his topend.
his goal would be for it to keep climbing from ~6000 rpm to past 7000 rpm (instead of flat-lining), and peak anywhere from 7000 to 7500 rpm.
custom header, different intake manifold, and e85. he can knock on 200 whp.

tell Tim that Dave said hello.

Thanks for your analysis!

After speaking with Tim on Friday, I think that he plans to boost the car sometime.

hmm.
he should have stuck with 10.5:1 pistons (or less).
420A and 4DRE don't perform quite as well with high compression boosted setups like say an F or K-series.

it'll stick work with e85.
he can always just shim the HG if need be.

I don't know if I would call that midrange "monsterous"...

Really clean front end!

RE: 420A - MegaSquirt SnS - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
for his setup, a 2.0 neon/eclipse motor it is.

for example:
i don't hit 100 whp until 4400 rpm.
good thing my car weighs 500 lbs less.

that motor in my car would run approximately high 13's on street tires at ~100 mph.

i know Tim back from in the day, when he had a few Neons.
