2JZ-GTE - Bullseye S372 - AEM V2 - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
This setup belongs to Chris H. from Colombia, SC. He brought us his super clean 1994 TT supra with big power in mind. He bought the car with a small T3 turbo installed, and was not happy with the power that it made. His goals were to install a turbo setup that could make good power now, and still be used later when a built block is switched into the car. Sorry guys, no pictures for now.

Here is the setup:

All Stock 2JZ-GTE
V160 6 Speed Trans

Tubular T4 Twin Scroll Manifold
Bullseye Performance S372 turbo, 1.10 A/R
4" Down Pipe and Mid Pipe
4" HKS Ti Exhaust
Tial MVS water cooled Wastegate
Synapse Synchronic BOV
3" Intercooler Piping

2 Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pumps
-6AN Feed Lines
TMS Fuel Rail
RC 1000cc Fuel Injectors
Aeromotive FPR

The Greddy Boost Control Solenoid failed on the dyno. It will be replaced with a AEM solenoid, and we'll be turning up the boost, looking for 700 WHP.

Wastegate pressure is 19 PSI. Here is the chart:

Customer may also install cams/springs/retainers in the near future as well to increase spool up and prolong the range of usable power. ;-)

Do you really think you can make 700whp on stock cams? You would have to be pushing at least 25 psi...stock bottom end won't like that for very long.

That really looks like a "Nothing.....nothing.....JAIL!" power curve. My dad had an 86 Supra with a targa til I was 7, so I have a little bit of a soft spot for those cars, despite my American-ness. Cool stuff thumbsup

700 WHP will require 28-30 PSI on stock cams, and it's completely fine on stock bottom end.... for a while. Browse through Supraforums.com, and you'll see multiple 850-900WHP stock block setups.

Didn't say it couldn't be done, just saying its not really safe on pump gas. Guess if the guy wants to build the motor soon and this isn't his DD then that works. I know the awesome-ness that is the factory GTE shortblock, but it still has limits.

Has he considered doing some mild cams and be able to rev to 8k with better spool? It shouldn't cost more than $1500 for parts and labor and have a lot more useable power. Not to mention you could run lower boost while making more power...engine might even last a few more thousand miles?

RE: 2JZ-GTE - Bullseye S372 - AEM V2 - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
^ Please refer to post number 4 ;-)

Yes, it can be done on pump gas consistently. Think about it from a logical standpoint, if we can do 600whp on 93 octane out of 4 cylinders on a 2 Liter then why can't 700whp on 93 octane be done on a Supra? The root problem is the sponsors on supraforums are race fuel dealers and that's what they have been promoting over the years and I aim to brake that myth. For the record, I'm with you in regards to the benefits of aftermarket cams. It's begging for them.

RE: 2JZ-GTE - Bullseye S372 - AEM V2 - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
No, your eyes do not deceive you. The turbo loosen'd up a tad (it was brand new) and it's actually spooling faster than before as you can see from the 700whp chart. Not that it matters at this point but it's still worth noting for the record.

RE: 2JZ-GTE - Bullseye S372 - AEM V2 - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
The tune itself is spot on. Keep in mind there is no such thing as safe or aggressive, just inefficient, dangerous or spot on. Inefficient means not enough timing or too much fuel. Dangerous is way too much timing or not enough fuel (lean). Spot on is right a/f ratios and right ignition values.

Be on the look out for 800whp in a week or two. It's getting cams, bigger injectors and E85. Realistically 700 on stock cams and pump gas is asking more than it should from stock internals depending on the mileage of the car. Generally speaking, just because the tune is spot on, doesn't mean the internals are. Regardless, bigger cams and E85 will relieve a lot of stress on the motor.

RE: 2JZ-GTE - Bullseye S372 - AEM V2 - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
Sorry... But a "Safe tune" is real. Its what all OE tunes are. Any tune that mimicks what the original engineers tested to be a tune that achieved the best response, fuel efficiency at any ambient temperature and any ambient air pressure and fuel qualities.

There are tons of variables that people don't account for. But I digress... I'm afraid I'm sounding like a dick... HAHA

But anyway... the 700whp isn't as bad as you might think... The cams will increase stress... BUT! the E85 will be magic on that motor though! (Less peak cylinder pressure but a longer burn)

Looks great though... I think you guys do a real good job on some of these tunes! I hear you ad on the radio ALL THE TIME!
I'm a fan of that turbo...BUT I'm pretty sure most around here know me as a BorgWarner whore. Smile
