RE: Transmission Flush?
All done! Did the differential last Friday, that was a cinch. The Royal Purple bottle had a little squeeze top that fit right in, I was able to squirt all I needed right back into the differential. It's stupid how much more grip I feel like I have in the back now, the differential's working like it should. Couldn't find a wrench to get at the trans fill plug though, and as John pointed out, if you drain it and you can't get the fill plug out... I had an adjustable crescent wrench that was big enough to fit the nut but too big to fit into the space around the nut, another adjustable that fit in the space but not on the nut, a socket that was too shallow to fit over the nut and the reverse light sensor coming out of it, and a deep well socket that fit over the whole thing but not with the wrench attached. I ended up borrowing a wrench from the ME lab...
Goodness gracious that trans fluid shot out quick. And judging by the cherry red Dexron IV I pumped in, trans fluid isn't supposed to be black with shiny glitter in it. Probably hasn't ever been changed, but that's what you get when you buy a used car... All done. Shifts like a champ, the diff shifts like a champ. Anyone want to do clutch/brake bleeds one day? We could have a clutch/brake bleeding party! Hi. I like V8s. It's a sleeper.Everyone knows blue cars are the fastest. CSCC Prez 2012-13 (or til the end of the world) |
