Hey! I liked the straight! How would the people we get the parking lot from feel about just setting up an 1/8th mile track? I'd be closer to the top on a track like that.

Hi. I like V8s.

RE: Autocross #3, March 5th!!
i vote for starting out technical but adding the "dragway" halfway through the course which will implement a factor of accelerating out of a courner (like the second lap on the last course to the straight away) to a fast straight away and then deceleration whereas before where everyone just started with the straight. Plus the straight seems to be popular look at the increase in attendance, why mess with a good thing!!!...keep getting everyone involved, gaining experience, and then get really technical.

be careful what you say, there are a bunch of cars that run 8's in the 1/8th mile that autocross with us. some are bone stock.
my car will throw down low to mid 9's.

greer dragway isn't too far away, and cheap to race at.

Or 7's twisted

We are going to ATL dragway when it opens...I freaking better run 12's...

If I'm able to attend, I've worked the timing equipment a few times and would be glad to help.

This is the Zmax dragway course layout from last weekend.

Granted, this is at a much much larger lot, but for the relative new autoxers, this is what you would typically expect for course design. No one course is typically the same, and no one designer is the same either, but autox more often than not will have more technical rather than less.

if you run 7's, then you'll run at least mid 12's,
in your car on street tires, probably low low 12's.

opening day is actually today, going on right now.

I will have to run race gas to get into the 7's, but people have done it with less mods than I have now. Its all about the 60ft for me (well I guess for most ppl its about the 60ft lol), if I can't get at or below a 1.9 then the run is trash...

So I notice we have a possibility of rain this weekend. What happens in the event that it does rain on autocross day?

"The show must go on..."

Rain just evens out the playing field. Those on slicks suddenly don't have as much of an advantage anymore Wink

Oh and spins galore. Its actually pretty fun lol

Awesome! Maybe the all seasons won't let me down too much if it rains. haha. (In a way I kind of hope it does rain. It does sound like it would be pretty fun!)
