As many of you already know our annual Motorsports Festival will be taking place on campus and will be both a car show and autocross. This thread is for information, along with ideas or suggestions people may have to make this years festival go a bit smoother!

We plan on having the Autocross and car show as basically separate entities. That is, both will have their own schedules and respective people running each show. This will keep from things getting too haywire, especially towards the end of the day when the awards are given out. We will still try to stagger both events to keep things from clashing, especially awards ceremonies, but I feel this is the only way we can do both events on the same day without officers' heads exploding.

We are benefitting the Boys Home of the South! I contacted the charity and they were very excited about bringing the guys up to check out the cars and go on ride alongs during the autocross! Check out the website for more information on this Upstate charity...

Schedule of Events for Car Show:

Registration: 9-10:30 AM
Judging: 12-2:00 PM
Awards Ceremony: 3:00 PM

Car Show awards:

-Best of Show
-Best Asian
-Best European
-Best Domestic
-Best Race Prepped
-Best 4x4
-Best Beater

Schedule for Autocross:

Registration/Check In: 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM
Tech Inspection: 8:15 AM - 9:45 AM
Course Walk: 8:45, 9:00, 9:15 AM
Driver's Meeting: 9:45 AM
First Car Out: 10:00 AM
Awards Ceremony: 4:00 PM

I have also attached the flyer for the festival. We will have copies of these at the next few on-campus meetings, but please feel free to print this out and put it up wherever is appropriate, especially other forums!!

I can help out in the morning with the autocross. Not sure the state I will be in though for the day. I am getting back form my first trip to China the night before. I am going to try to ride the energy from the autocross to stay awake late to try to get back on schedule quicker. No promises though. Remember 11AM will be midnight in my mind so I might act strange.

Has the local charity been chosen? If not, I know of one in Greenville, SC that could use some funding.

As much as I would agree with this idea I don't think Clemson would appreciate naked breastices as much as the participants would Sad

Thats why they are supporters of it. Hooters believes every woman should have the opportunity to have massive fun bags. 10% of their profits go into a trust fund for BAFUPA (Breast Augmentation For Under-Privledged Americans).

I'm not sure why I didn't see this before, but Ted suggested a great place! Boys Home of the South is located in Belton SC and helps underprivileged boys. I am going to try and get in touch with the supervisors this afternoon. This is somewhere that would benefit from both a monetary investment and we could get the boys out to the event; I'm sure they would have a blast checking out the cars in the show and riding with us in the autocross.

*edit* Just talked to Ricky (I think that was her name) about the CMF. She is very excited! So this WILL be our charity that we will be benefitting. Updating the flyer now...

For what it's worth/just random information, Hooters does have a charity...a hooter girl got breast cancer so they founded a breast cancer research foundation in her name...but that's beside the point.
I know that last year Keegan wanted to do a charity thing for the Boys Home of the South. They sound like a great organization to be helping!
