Car pulling with summer tires
With the stock Subaru wheels (21 lbs) and 215/45 all season tires, the car holds a straight line down the highway. I can take my hands off the wheel and there is no pull to the left or right. For a long trip, it is much nicer to have these wheels on the car.

When I have the Enkei RPF1s wheels (15 lbs) and 235/40 Yokohama AD07 summer tires, the car always pulls to the right when I am in the right lane. In the left lane, there is no pull or sometimes it can pull a little to the left.

Do I have a tire problem or does the wider and stickier tire pull to the right because of the slight slope of the road to drain off water?

RE: Car pulling with summer tires
Wider tires typically will cause the car to follow grooves in the road more. Not sure it should be that noticeable though.

I have the same problem with my starspecs vs. all seasons. the right side of the road pulls much worse also.

RE: Car pulling with summer tires
yea i think that's more the tires than something wrong with the car. might wanna get your alignment checked though

RE: Car pulling with summer tires
When I drive around with my track wheels my car does the same thing. Stock tires are 225s and tracks are 265 r compound. I look like a drunk driver swerving everywhere. ha

RE: Car pulling with summer tires
The slope built into the road to clear water could be the cause. That's why it doesn't pull to the right when in the left lane because the road is flatter compared to the right lane which has more of a slope. It's just more noticeable with some tires. I've had cars do this also.

RE: Car pulling with summer tires
Thanks for the replies. The pull isn't that bad, but I have to keep my hand on the wheel and guide it. With the thinner all season tires on a heavier wheel, the car goes straight as can be. It almost guides itself on the highway.
