New Club Garage
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Andrew Warren - I'm the guy with the big freaking dually and spec miata. I used to have an STi but got tired of door dings and tickets and I needed to tow a lot so I got the truck.

For the past year I've been renting a large garage in Liberty with another member of the club. Well, he moved out and I can't afford rent on my own so i spoke to David Elkin about splitting it with the club. We all know that the summit garages are junk other than the location, and after moving the club car out, the Y-barn is getting way too cramped.

This upcoming weekend, we will finish moving trailers/cars/club 'tools' over to the new garage. This is good because it gives us a lot more room, as well as providing a place for everyone to work on their cars.

YES! you heard right. Stop working in parking lots! I have tons of tools and space for members to work on their cars from maintenance to full overhauls. It's situated in downtown Liberty right off of 178 and near O'Reilly (92 South Palmetto St). I'm there a lot so if anyone needs help just let me know. As of right now, I've got the only key but I will have one made for David Elkin shortly.

I only request that you respect my tools and my space and return things to the way they were after you're done. I go out there quite often and if I notice that things are scattered all over the place or things are missing, I'll stop letting people use my stuff.

Also, If you break it, you buy it and I am very serious about that.

This is an old picture of just under 1/2 of the garage:

RE: New Club Garage
My advice is to mark all your tools, every socket, wrench etc. w/ some blue tooling dye. It'll stay on whatever you use very well.

RE: New Club Garage
Very cool you are letting others use your garage Andrew thumbsup.

I'll definately keep this in mind if I need some space to work. Do you happen to have a pair or ramps? I'm going to need some to put on my new sway bar.

RE: New Club Garage
Yeah, definitely mark the tools somehow, either with dye or scribe your initials, or let people use their own if they just need the space. Very cool, I can't wait to see it re-organized! Such a great place.

RE: New Club Garage
Yeah thank you a bunch for the opportunity for the garage Andrew...but also the club wouldn't be able to help pay for this without our great membership! I think any sports car club should have its own garage that members can use, especially if they charge dues.

I plan on bringing some tools over, we are running out of room at this house for any more toys...I mean tools!

So can we plan on making the move this weekend for sure?

RE: New Club Garage
If you guys need help setting anything up let me know. I also say mark your tools somehow... Perhaps lock them up and then have a sign out sheet of some kind for the key. Tools are expensive, and most people who work on their cars (no offense y'all) are slobs and leave sh!t strewn out everywhere.

RE: New Club Garage
John - yeah this weekend is for sure. The place is pretty much all cleaned out it just needs some housekeeping.

Ryan - we've got ramps and like 50 jack stands.

Man i'm going to need a lot of pens to mark my tools....

RE: New Club Garage
If everything has a place (like the kits that come with holders), so you can see when something's missing, it may be better to just have a sign in sheet

Not that I dont trust everyone here, but I wouldn't trust just anyone with access to my tools =P

RE: New Club Garage
Yeah we will have to come up with a system to hold people accountable with so much hardware...sign-in sheets are a good way of doing so

My dad always used a tool punch and had a pattern tapped into all his tools. (he worked with his brother and friends at a shop.) his was a cross with a extra dot... His brothers was the same cross but with a slightly different extra dot.
