That's what I was saying -- one air flow (the two resonators) is in parallel to the other air flow (cutout)

NA gets so much more complicated with backpressures and tubing design!

Yea tell me about it. I guess my design would work better for a N/A build. Most of the time a single flows better but not always, so I can see where Brad was coming from when he said that having the cutout open could make it have more power but less noise.

please read above.

the most import thing is header and collector design, after that, the primary goal is to minimize hp loss by running an exhaust.

Supercharged engines still produce a lot more exhaust gases per unit of time than a N/A motor. The goals are the same for the exhausts of supercharged and turboed vehicles. A little more extreme with turbo cars obviously.

RE: exhaust build thread
finally this is back up and kickin.
This came in on tues. (my apologies for the really crap-tastic cell pic.)
this will go in what was the post cutout pipe section.

next time i actually have some free time in my life it'll get welded in and hopefully ill finalize this project, but this is just one thing that needs to be modified. The exhaust also needs a 4' kink put in it pre- Y pipe (clearance issues... it was rubbing on the heatshield)

RE: exhaust build thread
original thread here
http://www.clemsonscc.org/thread-11299.h...aust+build

its now complete!

and the works! I know.. i need to clean off the slag and grind the welds down...
and then polish it...
but first i have to fix the 4 or 5 pinhole leaks i found yesterday after covering it with water.

and a video!
no driving clips yet... soon though...

this is with the cutout closed.
cutout open is not much louder, mabe 2-3dba at idle, and ~10 at wot, but it burbbles a lot more and has more of a raspy tone to it.

ignore the rattle... its a failed powerflex tensioner bushing and is being replaced as soon as powerflex ships me the new one.

rolling shots!
Volume level is not different, i realize that, but thats on the video. My camera auto-adjusts its mic sensitivity.

just realize how prominent the supercharger is in one.. vs the other...

RE: exhaust build thread: UPDATED, check page 3 for videos!
yea but now it has a massive leak. Flex joint developed a tear (i had used the header before, and a friend was fascinated with how it flexed and played with it a little too extremely, Summit got a flex pipe to my door in under 24 hours though (ground shipping O.o ... gotta love em Smile ), so its going in tomorrow a.m. and I'm hoping it will fix my drone issues. found a few pores in some of the welds when i soaked it yesterday, so ima touch those up as well.
and thanks Smile I'm extreeeemly happy with it, and that I didn't throw all the money I have invested in it down the drain.

closed then open revs
coldstart, so the smoke is a mix of moisture and un-burnt fuel (I'm running really rich.. in the 9 or 10-1 neighborhood)
