CSCC Shooting Range days
Gotta love how these things start. So some of us like shooting guns on occasion so why don't we have CSCC shooting days every once in a while. Ideas on location near clemson or dates? I have no idea about ranges in the upstate.

I know there are a few gun clubs in Spartanburg but not sure about anything around Clemson. I'm sure they exist though, we are too far in the heart of the south! ![]() Clemson '11 |

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
While we're on the topic, I have a new gun coming (Mosin 1891/30 Nagant) and I just mailed away my application for a Curio & Relic FFL.
Will work for beer. |

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
I'm going to rebuild the Marlin with a new stock and scope and save up for a Model 795SS. I prefer the Magazine fed over the Tube fed gun. The best part is that the stock and scope I get for the Model 60 will fit on the 795SS. Just got the go-ahead to bring the .22 up with me tomorrow.

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
I'd love to. Only places I know of are Cedar Creek range in the national forest just past Walhalla, which is a bit of a drive, and there's an indoor range in Pickens that just re-opened. Being indoor, it's a maximum of 25 yards, so not much fun for rifles, but still.

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
the police have a range that they let the riflery leasure class utilize.
The guy that runs the course is EXTREMELY awesome and laid back... He let students bring what they had just to share how different weapons feel... but the popo had to unlock the range and lock it when we left. .. RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
Guys, we have a location we can use, it is free, has a small supply of guns to use and isn't too far from campus. I just don't want it all over the internet.
Also we will have a very interesting target in a week or so. (think old car) Will work for beer. |

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
Dang, why you guys gotta decide to do this when I'm leaving. Although I will be back select weekends, so maybe the fun can happen then.

They revamped it with a new rifle range and 2 awesome shotgun ranges that can both be either for trap or skeet. Unfortunately, the range is still only available for use by the police, classes, and the shotgun club. Hubert and Mr. Prater are awesome and would both love for the range to be more accessible, but there's just too much red tape from the university right now. Not sure how the range being close to campus is scary :/ Maybe the fact that deer hunting is allowed in all of the surrounding property (Clemson owned) wouldn't be the best thing to tell ya. ![]() 1993 mustang 2.3l ^^so slow CSCC Treasurer 09-10 CSCC secretary 08-09 |

As long as you are above 18 for shotguns and rifles or above 21 for pistols you can own one. You can even carry a pistol under your car seat without a concealed weapons permit in SC...just don't accidentally cross state lines with it still there or else you will have some issues ![]() Clemson '11 |

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
There is an outdoor range up 123 before you get to Easley never been threre, there is also a Shooting range Gun Club out in Salem. Greenville also has a indoor shooting range and rental guns and autos are allowed. But it is typically pretty busy.

RE: CSCC Shooting Range days
My .30-06 is at home. Not really worth wasting the money on rounds to shoot targets with that thing... It's more for shooting stuff that moves.
