LT1 Camaro - 76mm Precision Turbo - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
Jon brought us his turbo Camaro in for a tune a while back. He had a few small issues with some oil leaks at the optispark, and needed a new set of plug wires. We got him back on the rollers today, with the leaks resolved, and a set of MSD braided wires installed.

Here is Jon's setup:

LT1
355ci w/ main girdle
Scat Crank
Eagle Rods
Scat 9:1 Pistons
Trick Flow heads
Custom Grind Cam

ProTurbo Turbo Kit
PT76GTS Turbo
3" Down Pipe
Open Wastegate Dump

Race Tronix Dual Walbro 255 LPH Pumps
Bosch 60# Injectors
Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump

Here is the chart for 14.5 PSI. Jon's car will be back for more boost and more power, once he upgrades his fuel system. Future plans include a Bosch 044 fuel pump, and larger injectors. which will allow us to run more boost and higher RPM.

Wow.

I knew STS made a turbo kit for the LT1, but its remote mounted out back. Didn't know ProTurbo was an option. Got any pics on how its mounted?

Just to show the potential of this setup:

This was while we were adjusting the sensitivity settings on the EBC. It overshot to somewhere between 18-20psi before coming back down to 14.5psi (+/- .2 psi). Obviously there wouldn't have been enough fuel to set boost to 20psi all the way across but that and whatever the clutch will hold will have to wait until a larger fuel system is in place.

^Jon's hoping to see around 750 WHP once he upgrades the fuel system.

Steve, how about we do one of these tuning threads for that Shelby of yours? We're doing a "Try before you buy" offer on our SCT tunes right now. Basically, you come in, we tune the car. After reveiwing the dyno charts and driving the car, if you're not happy with the tune, we'll simply reflash the stock tune back on to your ECM, and you pay nothing. It's hard to argue with that kind of promise. Keep in mind, we've not had anyone leave with their stock tune yet. People like power.

Yeah. It's a really sweet deal for the Mustang guys.

SCT works in a way that allows us to return a vehicle to stock, and return the SCT handheld back to it's original configuration, so that no one is out of anything if the customer is not satisfied. Unfortunately, the hardware, either KPro or FlashPro depending on the year of your car, requires purchase and installation into the ECU along with swapping a few sensors (and in the case of FlashPro, registration) before tuning starts. It's just not as simple.

INCREDIBLY TEMPTING.....my only issue is that they Shelby is under Warranty for another 16K miles and I don't want to void that yet. As much as I drive, I'll be a 30K next year. I'll give ya'll a call when I'm looking to add some juice thumbsup

Keep in mind that an SCT tune can be removed from the ECU, and the stock tune reflashed to the ECU, in the case of a warranty claim or service. It's a 5 minute process, and the Ford dealership won't know a thing.

Don't miss the deal while it's going.
