Drifting...
Hey my wife is a student at clemson and she told be about you guys...i Have a track only drift car that we trailer and race with StreetWise drift out of NC. I was curious if you guys ever thought of holding a drift event locally. i know the Elite Summer Nationals had a decent turn out of drifters (40) and we are all starving for drift spots in the Upstate area...Just wondering...thanks

I would love to, and we might do that if there is enough interest in the Spring. That is if we can get our old Anderson lot again...

The only problem is we would have to hype it up for a while to make it popular enough. Drift events make more on their attendance sales than their entry fees, and we usually don't charge people to watch our events. Anderson lot costs a good bit to rent...

RE: Drifting...
It's always a consideration, but it would have to be at the Anderson location as JB says.

Not really relevant but still thought it was funny Lol

Holding a drift event would be interesting. Might be tough due to space restrictions and for the reasons mentioned above.

RE: Drifting...
I dunno what you guys charge people to drive in your AutoX events but the average drift event entry fee is between $75 and $125...plus drifting always draws relatively large crowds...most events charge $10 per person to watch... if this helps you guys while figuring things out...if anyone is interested in drifting there is an event on the 28th of november in Charolette...if any of you wanna come out and watch or try your hand at it yourself...do you allow any drifting in during your autox events...like a Gymkhana style?

RE: Drifting...
I would be down for a local drift event for sure. I always drive up to NC to watch streetwise but if it was local I would get out there. I don't have the money to travel that far and enter the event too.
Im not saying Im great at it yet but just saying Im down lol

Anyone considered the Easley/Pickens fairgrounds?

There's a fine line between breathtaking ingenuity and "That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen!"

The GP Speedway / Fairgrounds looks good from GoogleEarth.. and they will rent it. We checked it out for an SCCA AX. The problem is the surface... it is actually three different surfaces and they are very gravelly broken and pot holed. You'd be much better off with track and infield and they won't rent that cheap.
