Howdy!
Howdy!

My name's Henry.
I've seen the Clemson Sports Car Club at the club sports even on bowman every year but never really thought of getting into it (I thought it would be expensive/time consuming... etc...) After reading the article about the Club in The Tiger last week I decided to look y'all up and see what you're all about, and thus here I am ^_^

I'm kind of new to most of the racing things y'all do, but I have driving experience in a variety of cars, am good with a manual transmission, and am more than willing anything y'all can teach me.

Thanks

Henry Young

RE: Howdy!
Welcome! We have bi-weekly meetings in Kinard 101 at 8pm where you can get a lot of information and ask questions. There is meeting this week. If you can't make it, the boards are also a very valuable resource.

RE: Howdy!
Welcome!

From the article.

Quote:Safety is very important to the CSCC and is always the first priority during events.

Glad to see the newspaper described exactly what the club is about when we put on these events. This article conveys very well how fun and interesting the club is. Hopefully we'll get more interested parties at the next event.

Congratulations on the very thoughtful and interesting article. Although sometimes any news is better than no news, it's def. better than the one we had a few years ago when we got an article in the paper. lol

RE: Howdy!
Yeah whoever wrote that article really liked us lol.

Welcome to the club! Just like Karlye mentioned we are having a meeting this Thursday at Kinard 101 at 8pm. I believe this week we will have our own autocross course designer come speak on proper autocrossing techniques, so it should be pretty interesting!

Also if you don't have a car you want to autocross then we also have a club car (you saw it in the paper, its the white RX-7 on the back page). Any member can rent the club car for $10 per event, and it is actually one of the most competitive cars out there (thanks to the R-compound tires lol)

I'm pretty sure Escobar has been interviewed by someone from the Tiger. Idk if its the same article or not.

RE: Howdy!
Welcome to the boards! I'm the one who was interviewed for that article... it helps having a girlfriend who's the managing editor for Clemson's newspaper haha.

And Although there were a couple mistakes here and there in the article (WHO IS TIM THEODORE???) overall I was really happy with how it turned out... those interview questions were long and ridiculous, but I feel like I got the proper points across that I wanted.

So Henry, what kind of car do you drive?

RE: Howdy!
Hello,
I'm sorry I wasn't active with the club last semester, even after I decided to sign up... I had a few classes i had to focus on to be able to graduate this May, so I was a little short on time...

I would like to be an active club member with the CSCC this semester, so could you tell me when/where the first meeting is?

Thanks,

Henry Young
