420a Eclipse - 25g Turbo - E85 Dyno Tune
This car belongs to Zac. This has been a long term project for Zac, and after many setbacks, he's finally made it onto the rollers for a tune.

Here is the Setup:

420a (non-turbo Eclipse engine)
10.5:1 JE Pistons
Eagle Rods
Crower Springs and Retainers
Crane 12 Cams
PEP SS +1mm Valves
a
Hahn Log Manifold
25g Turbo
Hahn FMIC

Walbro 255
Delphi 1000cc Injectors
Aeromotive FPR
Custom Return Line

Tuned on Megasquirt

Here is the dyno chart. The "waves" in the higher RPMs are from boost fluctuation, caused by a manual boost controller and an internal wastegate. This is for 18 psi, dropping to 14 psi.

Thats some great power but man must feel weird with the fluctuations like that. Is he going with an external wg to remedy? Or will an EBC take care of it without worrying about creep with the internal?

RE: 420a Eclipse - 25g Turbo - E85 Dyno Tune
that's funny i know a guy named zach who's had more setbacks than i can count with his eclipse and thought you might be talking about him before i saw the pictures. Lol

it's actually sad he just got it running again and managed to blow 2nd gear up before even being able to hit boost because he was still breaking the motor in.

how's the 420a hold up compared to the 4g63?

And that kids is why we don't use manual boost controllers

Or at least shitty ones...I had a Hallmann Pro mbc on my MazdaSpeed6 and never had any issues even while pushing 20psi on an internal wg'ed GT30R.

Also I got a question for Hubert...do you have any experience with a cp-e Standback yet? Considering getting one for my car and possibly bringing it to you guys for a tune.

Both are strong blocks, except 420a's are not known for crankwalk.

Sorry about the delay. Overlooked original post.

Yes, we do tune cp-e Standback. Excellent choice of EMS for Mazdas.

Yeah I wanted one real bad for my Speed6.

When they introduced the Standback for the N54 (tt 335i) it was a little late to the game, with Juice Box and Vishnu already saturating the market. However I still think its the most advanced piggyback solution for the 335, and most likely the only one that will be able to support a single turbo...

Yeah, someday on the single...

Stock turbos are parallel, both are the same exact size (TD03) and are running out of breath at ~400whp, without methanol or nitrous. All the tuners are complaining of not enough room to fit a single...well now its known to be possible and I swear if nobody has a kit out by the time I have the money to do something like this I'm making my own.

Because they REALLY won't fit. The room between the exhaust side of my engine and my wheel well is just enough for the tiny TD03's and their downpipes. If I were to do a single it would be a top mount setup similar to the attached image...only way I can fit the compressor housing I want twisted
