Cadillac XLR-V - HP Tuners - Pump Gas Dyno Tune
Dr. McCraw brought us his 2006 Cadillac XLR-V in for a tune with HP Tuners. For those unfamiliar with the XLR-V, it features a A 4.4 L (266 cu in) supercharged Northstar engine.

All Stock, no mods

The blue chart is the baseline pull, and the green chart is the tuned pull. Even though this is a bone stock car, notice how lean the stock tune is. Throttle was tipped into slowly on the final pull, there is no low RPM power loss.

And here is a chart with the torque numbers.

^ Our thoughts as well. Truth be known, we were really more concerned about the a/f ratios at partial and WOT than anything else and realistically, we weren't exactly looking to make any more power on a bone stock setup, but it's always nice to find some along the way.

On another forum someone asked bout tipping the throttle in on the last pull. The transmission behaves differently depending on temps, so we had to ease into it to keep it from downshifting automatically. Sure we could have adjusted those parameters and then adjusted them back but it would of been pointless. If we know how the car behaves at 3.5k rpms under full throttle, then realistically we should know how it would behave at lesser and higher rpms since everything in tuning is linear for the most part.

The auto 335i's have the same problem, you have to press the gas 99% of the way down until around 4k then you can go 100%. Lots of botched dynos with the auto cars lol.
