Sept. 23 | On Campus Meeting w/ Special Guest

To start off the bi-weekly meeting schedule we will have a CSCC Alumni come and speak about his experiences both while at Clemson and beyond. The man I am referring to is the infamous Ted Theodore! Ted has been in motorsports for nearly his entire life and is currently the director of SE-SCCA chapter. Also, Ted will be bringing new CSCC car decals that we will be selling a lot cheaper than the last set of stickers.

I plan to make a presentation on the "Unabridged World History of Sports Cars" - a humorous pictorial look at bits and pieces of history that helped shape the sports car you drive today.

These particles of undigested historical knowledge that will be regurgitated for your pleasure will include :

"A car company that changed it's name due to shame and another that kept it's name in spite of Nazi connections."
"An aluminum salesman turned car maker that put sand in his trannys."
"How a luxury car company almost named it's cars SWALLOWS"
"The car maker that chose the slogan for their car ' Jinba ittai ' meaning horse and rider as one."
"A dyslex youth considered to be retarded until he was 9 who became an expert skeet shooter, pool hustler and one of the best race drivers in history."
"Why many remember Henry Ford as penny pinching bastard."
"Why Porsche drivers think they are studs"
"A racer who pulled over during a race to get a Coke from a spectator, drank it and returned the empty bottle on the next lap."
"BMW's strange sense of humor about April's Fools Day"
"The race that launched a thousand firsts"
"The founder of a German car company who got fired from his first job after college for racing trains at night."

I promise it will not be long ( as you have studies and/or SOs to see) or boring ... (once you have dozed off, you will wake to applause at the end.

Hey, Just wanted to let you know I never got any decals. I regestered this passed spring with the club.

Sorry but the decals are only for this year's registered members. If you have paid dues for this semester as well then make sure to come up at the end of the meeting and get your sticker, otherwise we will sell you one at a discount.

Because he used the packaging from the engines as the floor for the model T. Later on the supplier found out and charged him more for the engines.
