Some of the stockies had 205 55 15's on them, so maybe you could go 215. nissan had an upgrade from the factory of a 205 tire instead of a 195. But ive heard guys running 235/60's flexing the sidewalls... id say 215 though |

I dunno about yanking out the thermostat completely - I would refresh it though. Some cars need a bit of flow restriction at the thermostat so that the coolant stays in the radiator long enough to actually cool down

single cam is no reason to run out of breath.. i have a single cam... it has 16 lobes for a 1.6l L4.... but its a single cam. lol. and the megaMini cam doesn't choke for air till 8k rpm... (stock starts running out around 7000-100)

RE: Nissan guys, look here
biggest weak point on a KA is the rod bearings....thats how just about all the NA KAs i know about have failed and it happend to me twice...these were DOHC though...not sure about the SOHC. after the second motor went i started running the oil slighly above the full line
yeah get rid of the clutch fan...the other fan is for the a/c. junk them both and go to pull a part or where ever and find some dual electrics from a FWD car...i think i got mine out of a Sentra....please wire these correctly aka get a thermostat (20-30 dollars from autozone) or just a switch or whatever....please dont hook them into the fuel pump power supply like many people do on the forums haha weakest thing on the suspension is the T/C rods on the front....aka the front part of the lower a-arm. if it was a drift car he prob already changed them out for some cheap ebay heim joint ones or something, they will work fine just work some WD40 into them every once in a while to make sure they dont rust and freeze up.. if not and you still have the big nasty liquid filled ones, bust those open and fill them with 3M windshield installing polyurethane, you can get it at walmart in a white tube...its awesome, I went all around our lemons car and filled any mount or bushing i could...motor moves around less now. i cant really think of anything else....dont listen to all this power stuff people are talking about....150hp in a 2200lb car is plenty for a lemons race...and even not for a lemons race. I've been driving my buddies stock motored s14 around...and with the good suspension and tires that car is a blast. good luck, im guessing your not running the one on the 24/25? Ill be out there with the subarjew and our crew, if i can get our motor running we should have a good showing this event....car will be nasty fast ![]() reading through nismo97s suggestions i might agree on keeping the clutch fan and shroud, i saw a test one time and with the shroud those fans pull a crazy amount of air through the radiator....and technically are more reliable than a hacked electric fan setup...but you do drop some rotational mass if you loose them 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon Manual Swap - C70 Wheels RICA tune - 16T @ 17psi Bikerack |

RE: Nissan guys, look here
We're signed up for the CMP event. Mike (the guy getting it together) is cutting it extraordinarily close.
Currently we have a gutted 240sx. We need to: * Install the cage (getting done this week) * Install the cut-off switch * Install the harness * Buy/install a fire extinguisher * Locate suits and helmets for the other drivers (roommate is letting me borrow his but doesnt want others using it) * Buy/install pads * Buy/install tires This will be fun trying to do in a week and a half. ![]() tylerz@clemsonscc.org |

RE: Nissan guys, look here
Mike said he's got that taken care of.
Is there anywhere local to buy decent tires? If not, we're going to be running 205 star specs from Tirerack (about $470 shipped). Does anyone have a truck we can borrow on sunday to tow the trailer from the SAE shop to the parking lot in which we will be testing it? ![]() tylerz@clemsonscc.org |
