Meeting Minutes 8/25
First meeting of the semester!!

Thank you all for the great turnout tonight; there were a great deal of things covered tonight so bare with me if I'm missing anything, feel free to comment/post up anything else.

Clemson Sports Car Club Social Cookout THIS WEEKEND!!!

WHEN: SATURDAY THE 28TH, 6PM

WHERE: at our club president David Elkin’s house (Directly across the street from University Village, From 93 heading away from Campus, turn left onto Pecan Street, then take an immediate right onto Walnut Street. You’ll know where you are when you see all of our cars)

Meet up for some quality food and car talk with people who understand the same love of all things car. Show us that new bucket seat or that new set of wheels, maybe that new intake or how that car sounds with no muffler on. EVERYONE is highly encouraged to come out and say hey! thumbsup

Caesar's Head Scenic Drive

SUNDAY THE 29TH at 8am, meet in front of the Clemson Bi-Lo for a great cruise down some fantastic roads with some friends. Drive up to the top and back, with a break at the top for an awesome view and some car talk. This is a CSCC must. (Drive safely and responsibly, and don't represent our club in the wrong way)

Future Events:

First Tentative CSCC Autocross: September 17th or 18th, this date IS subject to change!

Petit Le Mans: October 1st and 2nd, one of the most thrilling races you can watch ANYWHERE. Foreign Prototype cars, Corvette, Viper, Porsche, Ferrari, Ford, Mazda, and other GT cars all on track together at Road Atlanta. You HAVE TO see this race! We will be getting a group together to go, don't miss it!

Jim Pantas, head coordinator for NASA-SE, will be here next week to give us a great showing about the National Auto Sport Association and to help you get involved and get on track… and he’s bringing FREE PIZZA!! 

Clemson Motorsports Festival in the Spring… our BIG annual car show here on campus; you’ll hear much more about this in the coming months: stay tuned, and feel free to ask questions.

Commerce Fast-Friday Test-n-Tune at the Commerce Drag Strip. These happen most weekends, let us know if you're planning on going so we can get a good-sized group together. After all, who doesn't like racing with their friends in a safe and legal setting? Smile

COMMITTEES!

The committees are designed to help make the lives of our club officers easier, and help get everyone more involved and more knowledgeable of their specialized tasks/activities. Committees so far:

CC1 Committee: our beloved club car RX7 is fun for everyone, but like any car that takes some abuse, it needs some good TLC between events... by TLC, we mean wrench work, fluid changing, some part swapping and other modifications, as well as potentially towing the car and making sure it gets to the event and runs at its best. This is a fun group for any who enjoy fixing things or are interested in becoming more knowledgeable. A wide array of tools are available, as well as good friends with plenty of mechanical know-how.

Autocross Committee: Get involved with running autocrosses, designing the courses, and basically helping our events run more smoothly! This is a very satisfying job, and the foundation of what keeps us going. Keep the motor running! thumbsup

Club Block Seating Committee: Help keep things organized with our new seating at the Clemson Football games. More to come on this committee soon.

New events added weekly, don't be afraid to post up anything that you know or have heard about that's going on. Smile

RE: Meeting Minutes 8/25
David writing the Meeting Minutes. Big Grin

I'm hoping to make it out to most of the CSCC Autocrosses this year with the new toy (1995 M3), and maybe the Accord on it's new suspension now that David is out of NXF. Unfortunately, I've now added 2.5 hours to my 1.5 hour trek from home to Clemson now that I'm at another Tiger school in the Southeast, Auburn.

The first planned Autocross happens to be on the weekend that the Clemson football team is here, and I'm trying to get tickets to the game, but struggling. If I don't get tickets, I might be trekking up to Clemson to join you guys.

Looking forward to another fun year of autocrossing in the cold and the rain. I'll bring my painter's tape designs.

-GT
