C5 Corvette: LS1 w/ Bolt-ons (automatic) TDC Tuned
Daniel brought us his 01 Corvette (5.7L/Automatic) for a Diablo Sport Tune. His setup consisted of basic bolt on's. Also, the transmission parameters were tweaked for faster shifting and slightly higher shift points at the customers request. For the record, the same end results can be had regardless of whether it's Diablo Sport, SCT, HP Tuners or EFI Live..

Mods:
SLP Long Tube Headers
Corse Exhaust
MSD Coils
K&N Air Filter
Tuned on Diablo Sport

It amazes me how much money people with DIS cars waste on MSD crap.

Motor was rebuilt 5k miles ago and the previous coil packs had roughly 90K miles. I believe during the rebuilt he had a good offer on them and took them. But I agree with you in the greater sense that stock Coil packs would of been fine, even with boost.

Kinda low in the HP range, trying getting some good heads and intake on there and make over 4 through that auto and it would be a fun fun car for sure.

Not real sure what is up.
My STOCK V made 34xSTD or 33xSAE. If ones are unfamiliar with the V, it has more handicaps than the vette, ie dual mass FW, 2pc DS, 3.73s...CAI and Catbacks do not show up on the dyno, and these dyno graphs was with the stock paper filter and 48k miles in the car...

your V rated at 400 hp and has either an LS2 or LS6.

and the LS1 were rated like 350 hp in 2001.

SAE = 328.25whp/336.58tq

Lol It's actually pretty consistent with other LS1's from previous dyno nights with comparable mods but less than it's manual transmission equipped counterparts as expected.

For those who don't know, factory ratings are 350HP and 365TQ (to the crank).

04 V= LS6=LS6 intake and LS6 cam.
I just wanted to know the SAE numbers, that is a better way to compare dyno numbers than STD, sort of like when we drag race and correct our times to sea level, it allows one to actually compare times to know if things are better or worse. I know you have seen it...new mods but slower mph and car owner is "WTH"...but never thinks about the Density Altitude.

RE: C5 Corvette: LS1 w/ Bolt-ons (automatic) TDC Tuned
SAE numbers in this area are consistently 2% lower than STD. We post on several international/national forums and have been asked for both depending on the region. The most rare request is for Uncorrected numbers, which of course are meaningless for comparison purposes.

For informational purposes, here's the SAE Chart at a smoothing of 5.

Here is the STD Chart with a smoothing of 2 that I had laying around.

Hmmm still a firm apponent for putting some top end goodies on this bad boy and watch it go. Heads up, yank that stock stuff, throw some 243's on there if hes on a budget, put a big ole bump stick and a fast intake with a ls2 tb and the other litte bolt ons that are needed and watch this bad boy go well into the 400's thru an auto at the wheels. Either way you look at it, graph looks good but this car is just screaming for more go fast goodies.

RE: C5 Corvette: LS1 w/ Bolt-ons (automatic) TDC Tuned
The formula for 400 in this car would be at least some 241s ported by Advanced Induction, a FAST 90 actually a 102 since the 90 is no longer available but can use a 90-106mm TB on the new 102s.
A TC in it would help the TQ numbers, like a 2600ish stall. and for a bump stick you can do an LS6 unit and make 400+ to the wheels and it drive stock.
now if you want to get nutter and get mid 400s then get a lumpy stick, higher stall and 243s ported by AI. Then it gets real fun.

Heck, just an LS6 intake swap would jump it 20 according to the internet..

How many miles are on this rebuilt bottom end? it might loosen up some for a few extra ponies but not significant.
