Customer Build - Mitsubishi Evolution - Buschuer Rebuild
A interesting build is happening here at TDC and we thought we would share it with you guys as we bring this car back to life. Vegard from Norway bought this car a few weeks ago with hopes of bringing it back to his home land. He had bought the car for a really good price. Originally Vegard came to America and test drove and purchased the car. From there he found an exporter to get the car back to Norway. Well when you export a vehicle there can be no gas( or in this case E85). So the exporters were driving the car to empty the car out and it started making a ticking noise.

The car Setup:

Buschur 2.3L Stroker Motor
Buschur Stage 3 Head
T-67 P-Trim Turbo
AEM EMS Tuned for E85
Tilton Triple Clutch
and many many more..

Well when it finally arrived to us it was Rod Knocking. When the head was pulled off to there marks all over the pistons from the valves hitting them. Needless to say the motor had taken a beating. And it seems that the car had been over revved, hence the valve marks in the pistons.

But anyways Vegard has decided to rebuild the motor before it reaches him in Norway.

On to the pics

Was the car bought from Zen motors in Atlanta? I see the big sticker across the top.

Car is not from Zen Motorsports.... It had some minor work done to it from Zen with the transmission and wiring.. that is all.

RE: Customer Build - Mitsubishi Evolution - Buschuer Rebuild
i guess those hacks at Zen don't know what plastigage, a dial-bore guage, calipers, and clay are.

that motor has just about everything wrong that you could mess up in a motor build.

piston skirts were too tight, trashed bearings, and insufficient PTV clearance.

i give them a 9.5 for failure to properly build a motor.
it'd be a 10 but, the it somehow still ran.

Dave, I know Phil, the previous owner of the car. That engine was built and installed by Buschur, tho likely destroyed by the transporter.

Phil just posted this: http://gadsm.org/showpost.php?p=651243&postcount=4
and he wanted me to add the 'mod list': http://gadsm.org/showpost.php?p=651254&postcount=7

RE: Customer Build - Mitsubishi Evolution - Buschuer Rebuild
After talking to Phil the original owner he cleared up a lot of speculation with this car. Vegard is not the owner of the car. The car is owned by Karsten in Norway. From what I have been told the exporter over revved the car and it has caused all of this damage. This car is not a Zen Motorsports car so lets please leave them out of this mess. They had done some minor work on this car regarding the transmission and some wiring I was told by Brandon at Zen. Nothing else.. Phil told me numerous times that this car was 100% after the car left him. So this should be a lesson as to trusting other people with your cars. This thread has nothing to do with any other shops or anyone at all. This thread is to show what TDC is currently working. So with all of that cleared up we should have an update coming here soon as we are waiting on parts..
