RE: Summer Autocrosses
I know the first one is planned for June 5th. The second will be in July I think.

Keegan knows the most about what's going on, so hopefully he'll see this thread soon.

RE: Summer Autocrosses
I don't know what plans are for CSCC as far as autocrosses go.... I heard we had one planned while I was out of state on Robin Hood Rally but it was cancelled.. IF the officers are interested, I would be willing to help sponsor an event in August or September. I realize there's a lot going on (hopefully , CSCC is set up for "First" Parade) but if we can squeeze in an AX might be good to pick up some members before EVERY OTHER ACTIVITY at CU does! Let me know.

I also have two 8 foot Black "wind feather" flags for START / FINISH which I would like to donate to the club from The Southern Driver Magazine.
IF we have any resident artists that would like to take them and add PAWS, logo or START/FINISH, let me know. Otherwise, I'll try to do them myself. Any artistic volunteers?

Understeer is when you hit the mountain with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the mountain with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the mountain, torque is how far you move the mountain.

I believe we are waiting on the next semester to get started before beginning the autocrosses this season. I would love to do one this summer however I just feel everyone is too scattered to make something concrete happen.

Thanks for the flags! Those will definitely come in handy and make our autocrosses much more professional looking. If nobody can pick them up before I get back in town I will ride by and grab them. One question, do they break down or do I need to bring a larger car/truck?

RE: Summer Autocrosses
They break down into two little bags ABOUT 3 FEET LONG. No big rush... I'll try to get some lettering and a CSCC and paw on them before school starts.

We DO HAVE the Eurofest weekend autocross at BMW Manufacturing OCTOBER 17...I'd love to see a good group from CSCC pitting together and making a presence there.

Sure thing... bring it and bring it. Wink

Saturday, you can enjoy the biggest European Car Show in the Southeast, see 5 to 10 Ferraris, BMW Z1 through 8, Lambos, DeTomasos, to MGs and everything in between. For a small donation, you can make 3 runs in a BMW school car on a course (some surprises this year in the works including... it will be held again at the Performance Center!)

Sunday - you can come and run an SCCA SC Region autocross on a clean fresh large asphalt lot ...it's an AX just like you run with CSCC but with a lot more classes, trophies, prize money and Hooter's girls... and you get only 4 runs. AND...I was kidding about the prize money and the Hooter's girls. Wink

Eurofest is awesome. I went last year and had a blast. Tons of really nice cars! (I'll see if I can find some pictures and post them up)

Thanks KarlyQ....
I am on the Steering Committee and Board for Eurofest. This year is the year of the BUG. VW Bugs will be invading in extremely large numbers.... car clubs are coming all the way from CA, OR and MA. No lie. IT will be QUITE a show. If you hate VW Bugs, thre will be plenty of other cars of all marques from Ferrari to Morgan and Mini to Lancia.
We are trying to get the YIN and the YAng... THAT would be KEWL. Wink

I remember each of these cars. Great show!
I have an idea for a CSCC summer autocross. Since turn-out is low during the summer, charge extra and hold an autocross school in Anderson or on campus. In exchange for the higher cost is the benefit of more seat time and having the feedback of an instructor. Ask SCCA for help obtaining a few instructors from the Pro class. This could create a unique event that CSCC could hold each summer.
