^ I'm gonna make the guess that red is 8000 and blue is 9000.

RE: K20z3: Pump Gas Dyno Tune
If it's the standard Flash pro limiter, I believe it's around 8400 or so.
Nice work guys. Along with a whole host of other reasons, and including the responsiveness of this motor to just about anything compared to some cars, I'll be buying a 4 door Civic Si within the next 6 months. Look at the mid-range difference between the two. The more I read about flash-pro, Hondata's new plug in tuner for the K20, the more I like. Fixes the rev hang issues, creates a variable v-tec window dependent on load and throttle position, and has TONS of preset maps for tons of different mods. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

RE: K20z3: Pump Gas Dyno Tune
Sorry guys. I usually post the RPM chart. Not sure why we didn't this time.
I'll try to get it up tomorrow. The K20 engines never cease to amaze. They respond so well to mods. I also love to see a Honda with respectable midrange gains. We're working on a customer car right now that we'll be posting soon too. It's an 2003 RSX-S. We're adding IPS Cams, Supertech Springs and retainers, Hybrid Racing TCT, MDX Injectors, and a 3" exhaust. It will hit the dyno soon, so be looking for 250ish all motor whp numbers soon. ![]() TDCauto.com Chris@TDCauto.com 864-699-9436 625 Southport Rd. Roebuck, SC 29376 |

Rev hang is "said" to have been fixed. Although there are MANY owners that still say it's there and noticeable. See 8thcivic.com and there are plenty that will vouch. If you want to see some nice oem type upgrades for this car look at the CT Engineering supercharger kit. Similar mpg if driven mildly, easy and complete install w/ parts and 40+ hp and 30 ft/lbs of torque gain. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

The key for this to me is the oem drivability, good increase in power improving overall performance whether it's all out or low rpm driving around town, and reliability. I'd rather have a less intrusive option like the supercharger for this and many other reasons. I honestly think it would be a relatively easy sell to even the average driver if you keep the upgrades basic and to a minimum. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

RE: K20z3: Pump Gas Dyno Tune
To each their own. For 40 extra whp on a K, I would go with a nice set of Drag Cartel cams and springs. Superchargers are just too prone to heatsoak, especially after back to back runs. You could get 40 extra whp but by the time you shift into 2 or 3rd, now you're down to 30whp. On a k-series, either go all motor or Turbo. People are already exceeding 300whp (cams and higer compression) on daily driven all motor pump gas k series. These motors can support 400-500 whp at the top of it's reliability range on a boosted daily driven application. Obviously more power has been made than 500whp on stock everything but for daily driving, it's not as reliable in my opinion. For the record, there is a company that makes a supercharger kit that supports up to 400whp on pump gas on a K for those wondering.

RE: K20z3: Pump Gas Dyno Tune
^Thanks.
This is primarily the wife's car and they are looking at a nice set of cams/springs for their baby. Matt is a member of 8th civic and the following is a text from him regarding his wife's review. "So, the verdict is in. She's way happy with the job you've done. She had this huge grin and said she loved the way it drove. She said she was shifting at 6k opposed to 3-4K. She said and I quote "that thing was going up way faster than it used to" -- That thing was the tach. Anyhow, she's ecstatic. I drove a little harder on 85 on the way back to the big peach and dammit. Great job! TDC-FTW!" I thought it was funny. We are glad they are both happy with it and this sort of stuff makes us happy as well. ![]() TDCauto.com Chris@TDCauto.com 864-699-9436 625 Southport Rd. Roebuck, SC 29376 |
