CSCC Fund Raising Idea For New Cones
So, I'm not sure if this idea has come up before, but we all have seen the sad state of our cones at our autoxs and we all know they need to be replaced eventually. Here's the idea:
Have a sponsorship drive at all our events, autox, cmf etc. where people for the price of a cone or a majority of the cost if we can afford it can sponsor a cone and in return have their name spray painted or clearly marked on the cone. We could have an example cone and once we get sponsors, can order cones and have volunteers in the club take care of spray painting the sponsor names. Thoughts? ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... RE: CSCC Fund Raising Idea For New Cones
in addition to that, Ross, on other forums we have had good success with calender's and collage posters. i don't really have enough variety of shots to justify that for CSCC yet but i probably will after april's events if you want to start making plans in that direction as well. just let me know

RE: CSCC Fund Raising Idea For New Cones
I actually like this idea. If we have a massive group of them and you end up nailing a cone with a name on it, someone could say "oh man he just took out Zach!" or "Uh oh, he's dragging Keegan under his car!"
I think it would be quite amusing. :-D ![]() Fear the Baby Goat CSCC Journalist (2010) CSCC Secretary (2010-2011) |

It's a good idea for when we need them.

Ask zach or anyone helping with the course design and you'll know we need to start replacing them now instead of waiting until we realize the cones won't stand up on their own. Again, let's see that positive "solution" type attitude. I know it's there.

RE: CSCC Fund Raising Idea For New Cones
We do need more cones now. Most cones don't want to stand up straight on their own. We have enough pointers and the big ones, we just need more of the middle size ones. When I say need, I mean we really do need them by the fall. Do we know how much they cost or where we can get them from? I know it has been talked about before but I think it would be good to know.

I like this idea, because it's a good way to get some support. I think CMF would be a great place to try this out and while we're at it, why not try and see of anyone would sponsor a new timing system?

Timing system is fine and it isn't even ours. The problem is that no one knows how to use it correctly besides me.

RE: CSCC Fund Raising Idea For New Cones
We should try to get TigerSlab (or even Spill the Beans) onboard for this and have a "Cones for Cones" fundraising drive this summer. 1/3-1/2 the proceeds from ice cream sales in one day could go towards the purchase of new cones
So the business would have some incentive to contribute, club members could offer to work (without pay) on that day.
