Long time Lurker, First Time Poster
Hey all,

I've read the forums for a while now and figured I would break down and get a username. I have ran AutoX races with the club over the past year or so and enjoy getting the extra practice. Last year I started running my '08 Mazdaspeed 3 in some CCR / SCR events and look to run more this year. I was planning on making it out to the last event, but mother nature had other plans and I couldn't make it on Sunday.

I graduated from Clemson in May of '08 (BSME) and have been working for Michelin since then. Here are some pics of the car...

I bought it used with 10k miles in early 2008. Modifications when I bought the car included...
COBB Short Ram Intake
Custom Exhaust
Faze boost gage

Since then I have added...
18" Enkei T-Fork wheels w/ BFG Supersport A/S tires
BFG g-Force R1's on Stock Wheels for Solo Racing
TRZ Rear Engine Mount
COBB Rear Sway Bar
TurboSmart BPV (StreetUnit special edition)
TurboSmart Manual Boost Control
COBB Accessport for ECU tuning
COBB Short-Throw Shifter
COBB Turbo Inlet
SteetUnit Intercooler Boost Tubes
StreetUnit Shifter Spacers
K&N Air Filter for Cobb SRI

I just ordered some coil-overs the other day for the upcoming season, so the next race out I'll probably have to move up to NXB. Car is in DSP for SCCA events. I look forward to making it out for more AutoX events and the motorsports festival.

Welcome. I like your car a lot, and I remember seeing it autocrossing.

You work for Michelin yet you have two sets of BFGs?

Clean 3. I'm looking forward to seeing it run. I love watching the torquesteer.

Yeah even though I work for Michelin I still can't afford them. Since Michelin owns BFG and Uniroyal, and BFG makes a more affordable UHP product I just run with those.

I saw where CSCC is also working on getting a LeMons car together. Right now a group of us from Michelin are working on getting a 1974 260Z ready for the May event at CMP. We discovered one 260Z (gray car) under a pine tree in Chattanooga, TN with a nice drivetrain and crappy frame. Then we got a not as crappy frame (yellow car) donated from a guy at work who collect's Z-cars and parted this one out. Between the two we hope to get something that will run the whole race, and we'll probably try to bring it to an AutoX event to shake it down.

Welcome, I've seen you at the events, you're crazy quick. Can't wait to see how things go once you get the coilovers in. :-)

I've seen your car at the autocrosses. There are not too many mazdaspeeds. I didn't know Cobb made so many parts for Mazdas. I thought they mostly made Subaru parts. I've got the accessport and a Cobb catted downpipe.
