Another Auto X Help Thread....
Ok I'm getting ready for the auto x on the 20th alreadyLol The car is getting some prodrive springs, turned rotors, good pads, steel lines, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and some other maintenance. I've never entered one, and I'm not a member of the club, or NASA. I don't even have the slightest clue of what class I'll be in. I've searched, but had no luck. What all do I need to do "paper"work wise, to be in the event. Do I need to join CSCC, and NASA? Do I only have to register through this site, or the NASA site? Can I do all of that at the track, or do I need to take care of it online? Sorry for my ignorance... I promise I searched for some of the answersBig Grin

You don't have to do anything through NASA - we're not a part of them, we just follow their rules for clarity (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

To do an even you dont even have to sign up with the club, though members get a discount and you'll be supporting the nation's most awesome sports car club Wink
Classifications can be found here:

Subaru WRX STi starts in NXB, then you can add points for mods.

RE: Another Auto X Help Thread....
I gotcha. Well the one place I did find... http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/perfo..._rules.pdf ... had me in PTB? and I got plus 4(2 for springs, and 2 for catback). I was also confused because these are on the pro racing site, and I am no pro car racer haha. Thanks for the info!
Also, if these aren't technically sanctioned, is there any contingency available?

They are technically sanctioned, we sanction them. Also, we have insurance through NASA. We're not technically a NASA chapter but we do rely on them for things that a group out size can't really do for itself.

RE: Another Auto X Help Thread....
A friend of a friend in Greenville hooked me up today. However, there's a GREAT shop called boxer4racing, just north of Asheville, that is going to do my 90k maintenance, and any serious mods for the car most likely.

I've heard of boxer4racing. They are a bit far. I tried to go to Top speed in Atlanta. The person I contacted from their web page had moved to a new shop call Zen Motors (also near Atlanta). I ended up going to Zen.

Yeah it's a little far. What did you think of Zen? Did they have a 4 wheel dyno?

Zen is tiny. They did find decent prices for parts and matched prices when I found others selling for less. They have 2 mechanics, and they both have experience with Subarus. Nope, no dyno. Only a few places have a 4 wheel dyno due to the price. I had my car street (highway) tuned.

I'm going back this month. The car developed a little boost leak when its above 15 lbs. Then I am getting the replacement Crawford air oil separator. I had one installed last June and now Crawford is offering a free replacement for the new one.

RE: Another Auto X Help Thread....
I gocha. Yeah it's a pain to find a 4 wheel dyno without having to drive forever. I'm going to take mine to boxer4 most likely. They're doing a timing belt, waterpump, and thermostat pretty soon, so if I'm happy with that I'll probably just drive up there for any other "big" stuff.
