Newbie
I think I'll come over to your event on Saturday and give it a try -!/30/10. I have a Kia Rio 08. have never had a front wheel drive car before and would like to push it a little just to know how it would handle under more than normal driving conditions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as to anything I can do in advance to prepare myself and the car. Thanks,Hank

RE: Newbie
Make sure your fluids are good, battery's secure, remove floor mats either there before you run or at home before you come, and basically check that nothing will fall off. Otherwise you should be good to go. Not sure if you've done this before, but riding as a passenger with a more experienced person would probably help (or having them ride with you).

RE: Newbie
Welcome! Hope you can join us this weekend. I second everything above. If you've never done this before, it's good to have someone with more experience ride along and give you some pointers. You'll find that we are all a bunch of nuts and that if you want to ride along with anyone, you'll more than likely get a yes. I'm in a 08 Shelby GT (blue with silver stripes), so come find me if you need anything.

RE: Newbie
Make sure your tire pressure is at least at the recommended level, if not higher. You probably don't need to worry about just how much air pressure you've got when you start, but you don't want to have underinflated tires.

RE: Newbie
Here is some very good information to read/skim through when you get a chance. It will help answer a great deal of questions you have or might have the day of the event. Note, this is made specifically for SCCA Autocross/Solo 2 (Solo 2 is what SCCA calls their autox program) events, but it covers all the basics that apply to any autocross event whether it's SCCA holding it or any other group.
