Your car doesn't have to have anything special done to it to compete. If your car does leak fluids heavily, fluids are full, battery is tied down securely, throttle doesn't stick/return spring works properly and the wheels are securely on the car your 90% of the way there. We go over safety and other general things at the drivers meeting the morning of the event for drivers. The best thing to do is sign up for the event and show up early so you can ask questions and have plenty of time to get acquainted to everything. *Side Note* Is there a stickied thread on here w/ a list of all the basics for newer guys to read? If we don't we need to make one. ![]() 2010 Mk6 Gti... No it's not a DSG

RE: Another new guy and a new car!
Welcome! I started as a freshman last year with no experience of any kind with autocrossing and quickly fell in love with it. The events are safe, challenging, and a TON of fun! I would think that your G37 would acquit itself well and you'll be amazed at what your car can do.

RE: Another new guy and a new car!
Hello Guys, Like bwinter I am curious about what kind of cars you guys are driving. Saw a few impressive ones! Hoping I fit in. I love to drive. Have for years. Looking forward to getting to know all of you. By the way, when I say 'guys' I mean everyone. M & F. Just an expression because I am one of the latter. See ya soon.

I believe by "G" he was referring to the Infiniti mentioned above

RE: Another new guy and a new car!
Welcome Bwinter! If you're coming to the autocross this weekend, you won't be the only Infiniti G, but certainly the newest. This is Rustin (he drives the G35)'s first autocross as well, and it will be one heck of an event. Hope to see you out there... as fast as the old econoboxes can be, its still nice to have some decent eye candy going around on course.

RE: Another new guy and a new car!
I bet your G37 will do great. The autocross event is so much fun and tech inspection is a breeze. You should definitely go out. AutoX is the main reason I joined CSCC in the first place.

Bimmianism.... it's the way to go!
Ted E. Bayer - Hillclimbing Understeer is when you hit the mountain with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the mountain with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the mountain, torque is how far you move the mountain. |
