Tim's G35 Sedan 2JZ-GTE build
This is something that we're working on now, and I thought that I would share it with you guys.

Tim is has been a TDC customer for several years now. He originally bought his G35 Sedan for his wife to drive, but ended up taking it for himself. He had a Turbonetics turbo kit with a Precision PT61 installed and tuned, and turned to modding the rest of the car for about a year while boosted. One night out on the street, Tim's head gasket went, and instead on repairing, we decided to upgrade.

Most people know that we do LOTS of 350Z and G35 work, so the VQ35 is not a new endeavor. We looked into a sleeved block at first, but Tim wanted something a little more eye-catching.

Enter the2JZ-GTE swap.

Power goals will be 550-600whp for now, with plans of building for over 1000whp next winter.

They build will consist of:
2JZ-GTE Engine
R154 trans
Comp twin disk
PTE67 turbo
HKS fuel rail and injectors
MAP ECU
and much more....

Lots of parts will be custom built at TDC, so check back for details and updates!

First, the VQ was tossed to the side.

I know the pics are horrible, please bear with me. I'm a mechanic, not a photographer. LOL!

This is the new customized subframe. After it came back from powder coating, it was installed in the car.

Here is the motor in the car for the first test fit...

Other side. The intake manifold is out for polishing.

And one with the Turbo half installed

That is going to be a fun ride Smile

I'm helping my cousin here in Peru with a 2JZ in a FD with the same power goals to start off with.

Man that looks good! I would love to see what you could do with a dedicated race car

Thanks. We've been through a few dedicated drift cars, but honestly, I don't like anything that you can't drive to and from the track. i get bored with projects very easily, and sell them or move on.

Marc, I'll take the hatch. Thanks

Awesome to see this build going through! I remember that night Tim blew his headgasket, if I am correct I think he was beating me in the process! This car is going to be nasty with a 2J though...

RE: Tim's G35 Sedan 2JZ-GTE build
any particular reason for the R154 over a V160?

I also has me a MAP ECU... I'd like to get a hold of a MAP 2 ECU!

I assume these hp goals are race gas? What turbo is going to be used for the 1000whp?

May the Boost be with us...

He has plans to switch to AEM EMS next winter when we build the new engine

RE: Tim's G35 Sedan 2JZ-GTE build
^ you're not the only one. Since we started planning this build on paper, it has evolved and grown. Thus becoming more expensive. We've went from "tossing in a 2JZ" to buying tons of upgraded parts, and bunches of dress up stuff. It's going to be nice, but make take a little longer, due to ever changing plans (which call for more money)

The engine went back in this morning so we could check on a few last minute clearance issues before final assembly
