Car classification
My BlackBird is a limited edition COPO (central office purchase order) car. It is unchanged from the way it rolled off the showroom floor. It was done by the same people who did the Dale Earnhardt Intimidator SS Camaros.

I see a FireHawk classification which is similar car, but I have more initial changes than a Firehawk, would that matter?

RE: Car classification
Nice car! What you can do is use the class the Firehawk is in as a baseline and then add points to it for all the differences the two cars have. Idk if that would put you in a ridiculous class or not, but try it out and let us know what you get Smile.

RE: Car classification
When I had the dealer pull a build sheet for me I thought they had just printed all the options available, turns out the only option my car does not have is traction control Lol makes sense though.

This is a list of everything, I put performance upgrades in Bold

I'm assuming each one adds points?

WS-6 option
Formula option
Trans Am option
6-speed w/ Hurst Short throw linkage and 3.42 rear axle
17" Goodyear Eagle F1 tires
4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes
Power Group Option-antenna, dual sport mirrors, windows
Monsoon 500 watt AM/FM CD w/ 7 band equalizer
Leather Seating
4 Spoke leather wrapped tilt steering wheel w/ Radio controls
Convertible Boot Cover

(Factory COPO 9380W package). Black Bird package- includes:

380hp/400tq Engine upgrade
Cat Back Chambered Exhaust
High Flow Air Box Lid w/Black Bird Decal
Progressive Rate Eibach Lowering Springs
Torq-Thrust II 17" ARE Wheels
Dimpled Front & Rear Rotors

Dual Hood Accent Stripes - 380hp
Black Hurst Shift Ball
Short Throw Shift Stick
Metallic Silver Rear Lower Panel
Black Bird Numbered Key Fobs
Car Cover with Black Bird Logo
Black Bird Cloisonné Fender Badging
All New Silver Face Gauges
Black Bird Floor Mats
Car Number on Windshield and Rearview Mirror
Rearview Mirror with Compass and Auto-Dimmer
Mobil 1 Oil Fill Cap & Decal
Convertibles get Rollbar

Of course the biggest difference over a FireHawk is that the BlackBird came with 35 more horsepower out of the box. Does that add points?

You take points for the exhaust and intake, where the extra power came from.

Nice car! Do all trans-ams have the formula option listed as well, or is just a strange case with your blackbird?

Seems to be a strange case with the Trans Ams. I was surprised too. The only difference I can see is that the formulas got leather door inserts that T/a's didn't and mine has it, so i think that's all I got that was different. From what I understand all Firehawks are formulas and upgraded from there.

RE: Car classification
Keep in mind that the class is not too important, as we are not extremely competitive. So long as you are not cleaning up whatever class you get put in, no one will ask questions. But anyways...

If your specific car is not listed, then I think they default to some power/weight based calculation. But comparing it to a Firehawk and then addiing points based on the differences should be fine. Keep in mind that you won't be taking away points for any disadvantages your car might have compared to the Firehawk, however, unless the stock tire width is skinnier.

You only get points for things that were not installed at the factory. For example, Honda makes suspension upgrades specifically designed for my car, but if I have them I must add points because they were never installed at the factory. They could have been dealer-installed, and on the car when new, but as that is not up to official Honda specs it would add points anyway. However, since my car's trim level has a more powerful engine than other Civics from the factory, they just give the trim level a different stock class than other Civics; no points added.

Aren't those already in the Firehawk package and therefore included in the base points?

RE: Car classification
If it came from the factory on the Firehawk, then yes.

RE: Car classification
Put it in the firehawk class, nothing there that is going to mop up.
