Looking for some pointers.
Here are the videos from this past autocross, I was hoping some of you would watch them and give me some pointers.

2nd run, 75.858 - You can hear what Tyler had so say about this one.

3rd run, 75.295

4th run, 73.824 - My best run.

It looks to me like you can get a lot closer to the cones. It's not a big deal if you hit them, don't be afraid to. Also, I'm thinking that you could be a lot more aggressive. If you want to be fast, you've got to go, use that gas pedal liberally.

Enter tight into the sweeper, brake a bit and keep the traction in all your tires. Exit wide as the sweeper opens up on the other side to keep your speed going. Also, you can turn in a liiittle quicker... it seems you might be turning a little late, when your car is already half past the cones. You can turn your car back basically as soon as you're crossing the line of the cone.

Your car seems quite torquey. What kind of transmission do you have? Are you keeping it in 1st or 2nd the whole time? If yours is an automatic, Cody was driving an automatic as well (the blue accord) and kept it in 1st gear the whole time except for the exit of the sweeper in order to maximize responsiveness, his first gear tops out at 45mph. Otherwise (if yours is a stick) just keep it in second for the most part unless your first gear is REALLLLY tall.

You aren't bad, you keep within your traction limits for the most part and aren't overly attacking the cones, which was my problem in previous autocrosses. You've definitely improved since the last one.

It is an auto, and there are horrible delays in shifting. I've tried it in second, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I haven't tried just putting it into first as it doesn't really make any power past 4500, and I would need to shift it back and forth a lot. I have found so far it works best if I just put it into Drive and ride the gas peddle the entire to keep it from shifting up when I'm braking.

I have an auto camaro and I leave it in second the whole time. The first autocross i did i had it in drive the first run and second the second run. Dropped my time a few seconds by just doing that bc the response was much quicker as it wasnt shifting into 3 and then having to shift into 2nd.

I would say that you could be more aggressive with the gas and a little less aggressive with the braking. There are some times when it seemed like u were coasting where u could be accelerating and times when u braked harder than needed to

racing in general is all about maximizing your acceleration at all times BUT in the correct direction(s) - put another way - you want to use as much of the traction circle as you can:

I think you are giving up a litttllleee bit of grip laterally, and definitely alot of grip on corner entry and corner exit by coasting in and coasting off and not using those edges of the traction circle.

I also suspect you may not quite be looking ahead quite far enough. Some of the turn ins seemed late, and the not-looking-ahead may also be causing some of your delayed throttle application issue as well.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither were the top drivers in the history of the world either. Keep working on getting some aspect polished a bit better every time out and you'll be amazed at how quickly you progress Smile
