No, thank you for the co-drive! I love variety and getting to compete with the exact same constraints as co-drivers. Plus, it's fun to tell people about beating exotic machinery in my buddy's Ford sedan. And OMG LOL FTMFW I must drive a formula car again. I think I should start charging you for that. lol "That's why you don't life off!!! (Dave)" You got to spin while I got mushy brakes. hm.. not sure who got out better on that one. lol It felt like I was standing on a loaf of bread. Great job officers! You guys def. stepped up this time and, save the timing issues, everything else was checked off or being handled. Everyone make sure to look for registration to open for the next event soon. It's not my fault your car is as twitchy as a meth-head
RE: Results 2.28.2010 - Mr_Bill - 03-01-2010 11:25 AM Great to see a large turnout for the events, shows that with some good weather (finally) all of the AutoX promoting from the club will pay off. Wish I could have made it out, but it was man weekend in Atlanta (beer and motorized vehicles always make for a good excuse)....and when you get out of college you'll learn to take full advantage of all these you can get....until 4:00 am in the morning. If March 27th is the date you can count me in for the next one. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - Gerbo - 03-01-2010 06:05 PM Great event guys. HUGE turnout which is always great to see. Cant say im happy with my results at all. Dont know how I continually got worse after my second run and into the fun runs. the wrx is completely different from the camaro and will definitely take some time to get used to and learn completely. No need for that! You have gone from a simple, V6, rear drive car to an all-wheel drive electronics packed powerhouse. You'll get it figured out. It'll just a take a little time and before long you'll be making people mad about killing them.
RE: Results 2.28.2010 - 93redfox - 03-01-2010 07:00 PM i had a good time as usual, little sun/wind burned and tired, but so it goes. our turnout was awesome, and it was great to see some variety. the three way cobra/four way fbody/ three way cc1 competition was sweet. we need some more cc1 competitors! RE: Results 2.28.2010 - zps2004 - 03-01-2010 07:19 PM Ill drive CC1 for one. Ill double enter in it. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - karlyew - 03-02-2010 08:04 AM I don't know if CC1 will be able to handle too many more competitors RE: Results 2.28.2010 - zps2004 - 03-02-2010 08:05 AM Don't worry I just forgot that I am not eligable anymore to drive it. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - RHennin - 03-02-2010 05:34 PM Besides needing new tires and the cat being clogged, the car has pretty much been issue free really. If we check the oil, other fluids, and esp. the coolant a few times per event, the car should run for a good long time. I figure there's a reason why people prefer this car for Lemons. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - keegano - 03-02-2010 05:47 PM actually the power steering belt exploded, the breaks seized, fender liner came off, and the tires are shot as well. all this after David and I spent 13 hours working on it at Steve's from Chap Racing (plug). RE: Results 2.28.2010 - mdenz3 - 03-02-2010 06:01 PM If you guys ever need help, tools, or a place to work on CC1 let me know. The car is fine. It needs to be driven so all these little items can surface and be fixed. I want to come up with some sort of system by which someone does some quick visual checks between run groups, but other than that I think a lot of major issues are behind us already. There are some issues I think will eventually come up...the radiator is starting to seep a little and there also seemed to be a little coolant leak around the intake manifold. Mike suggested this was a common problem with O-rings, if I notice it again (i.e. it wasn't spilled there from the radiator or something) I'll look into replacing them. The radiator supposedly has a lifetime warranty according to the sticker on it, so I'll look into that as well. I also have to re-secure the radiator fan shroud, but there's a bolt that just needs a nut to hold it at the top. Realize that it's probably better for the car to run continuously because it keeps air moving through the radiator and the fan spinning at high speed. The old car would actually run hotter sitting between runs than when it was being hot-lapped. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - 93redfox - 03-02-2010 07:42 PM ^^ exactly. shaun, thanks again for all of your help, it's been great to have the club car present at all of our events. we can't be afraid of minor problems or maintenance, the whole reason we have the car is for it to be run, and it takes being run hard pretty well. RE: Results 2.28.2010 - fiveo - 03-03-2010 10:47 AM To the officers, great job. This was my first Clemson autocross in a LONG time and it was terrific. I saw a lot of old friends and had a fantastic time. What a fun lot too! Regarding CC1, I learned to autocross on the old shell back in my sophmore year in 06'. We had anywhere between 6 and 12 people running that car every race weekend and it didn't even hick-up. As Shaun stated, running the car will allow all its problems to surface so that you guys can fix them and develop the car to be even better. I don't run CC1 now, but just thought i'd express the way we had run things in the past. |
