Im his roommate so Ill answer that. He said he thinks they are awesome in the rain, and he has had two FTD in wet conditions. The reason he is so fast is mostly because of driver mod though .

I guess I should clarify. I agree that when the road is simply wet, they hold very well. My issue is any time there is a hint of standing water (for example, 76 south just before the chick-fil-a sign on the right), the car clearly hydroplanes, immediately. Whether its the tread pattern, or the width of the tires, or what, it loses traction immediately.

I didn't have this problem with PS2s.
